  1. Hello, to all. I am too busy reading all the posts, to post anything myself. This is quite an interesting website and yes, it is addictive. I have been reading p.com for about 1 1/2 years maybe 2 and I have found that p.commers are a very caring and giving group of people. Nice to know there are still some "neighborly" people around. People in my neighborhood won't even waive half of the time. I wanted to go to the fundraiser for the Hollingsworth Baby but, I am not able to go far from home. My mother has been battling cancer for over 5 yrs and we just found out early March, that she has a brain tumor, she is weak, and I can't trust her to stay put while I run errands. My daughter comes and sits with Mom sometimes but, most of the time she will p/u things for me at whatever store she is going to. Who knows maybe this will be the start of posting more often, now that I am unemployed. Nice to see so many new screen names on here. Iv'e never heard of a half of them.

  2. Is Paulding County selling Alcohol on Sunday's now??? This is a sad case and luckily the child was not hurt. I don't know why people think they can get away with this. If I see a drunk driver, I WILL CALL THE LAW!!! Actually I did call one time and this man almost had a head on collision about 5 times, I followed him from Douglasville, around Greystone Power Co. to Joe's Bottle Shop in Austell. Douglas County 911 told me it was shift change and they did not have anyone to cover the call, called Cobb 911 and the line was busy. So, to heck with the public, the Sherriff's Office don't care about drunk drivers almost killing someone! I was so upset. I actually saved the call on my cell for about 3 months and I accidentally erased it.

  3. I have been using a heat pump for 5 1/2 yrs now and we live in the New Georgia Community, the heat pump IS GREAT, when the red light comes on, on the thermostat is when you are using the heat strips, I do not remember the coldest temperature here but, the HEAT STRIPS nor the RED LIGHT has ever kicked on. The highest electric bill I have ever had is about $225 for 1 month. Now I am cold natured and my heat usually stays at 74 degrees and my AC is usually the same. I will say this, it is different from gas though, gas heat is warmer, but, we have high ceilings and that makes a difference too. WOULD NOT CHANGE BACK TO GAS, NEVER!

  5. I also think they need to either put up the sign or turn off the lighs... they blind me at night!

    You are absolutely right. and half of the time when on my way to work in the am, the school zone lights are not working, what time frame should they be on? I think a traffic light will be up @ Cohran Store Rd. and Ridge Rd., and/or Hwy 61 and Ridge Rd. before the school. Not to say it is not needed but, IT IS only needed before and after school. They do need an Officer directing traffic there, no doubt.

  6. I have one for you, THE MIND GAME, illustrates the magic of numbers which can be fascinating. This game is an example of the "magical nines". It doesn't matter what number you multiply by nine, if you add together the resulting digits until you end with a single digit, that number is always nine. Observe,

    1 x 9 = 09; 0+ 9 = 9;

    2 x 9 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9;

    3 x 9 = 27; 2 + 7 = 9;

    ............

    9 x 9 = 81; 8 + 1 = 9;

    10 x 9 = 90; 9 + 0 = 9; = 4

    11 x 9 = 99; 9 + 9 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9

    27 x 9 = 243; 2 + 4 + 3 = 9

    78 x 9 = 702; 7 + 0 + 2 = 9

    149 x 9 = 1,341; 1 + 3 + 4 + 1 = 9

    7,088 x 9 = 63,792; 6 + 3 + 7 + 9 + 2 = 27; 2 + 7 = 9

    See. Similarly, by multiplying any set of numbers by three and adding all digits together to get a single digit, you will always come out with either 3, 6 or 9. Try it.

    Divide 100 by 99 and you will get a recurring 1.0101010101...forever and forever (0s and 1s are the basis of computer logic).

    (too much time on my hands)
