  1. New Georgia Public Library will have a Pumpkin Contest in October. There will be 2 categories: Carved Pumpkins and Decorated Pumpkins (this can be painting or drawings on Pumpkins). Bring them to the library anytime in October, winners will be announced on Halloween. No age limit, anyone can enter. Prizes will be awarded (they are yet to be determined).   3. Paulding Paranormal Society The Paulding Paranormal Society will be holding a free-to-the-public Haunted Paulding workshop at New Georgia Public Library on October 19th, 2013 at 2:00PM.   6. If you know a person that is blind please tell them about the National Library for the Blind. If you go into any Paulding County library and pick up a form. The form must be taken to the Doctor or Opthalmologist of the blind person and have it certified that they have a visual impairment. The form is mailed in. Then the blind person can get either Braille books or Braille Magazines or Audio Books will be mailed to the home of the person. Then they are mailed back and they get more. This is a National Program. Be sure to tell your blind friends.

  9. New Georgia Public Library now has CAKE PANS! You can check-out for five days. We only have a few so far, but we hope to get more. This is a list of the one we have now: Tractor, Baseball Player, Fire Truck, Pony, Castle, Winnie the Pooh, Giant Cupcake, Choo-Choo Train and a Rose.   18. September is "Sign-Up for a Library Card Month". Any child from kindergarten to fifth grade that gets their parent to sign them up for a library card at the New Georgia Public Library branch will be entered in a drawing. We will draw for both a girls and a boys bike. This is at the New GA branch ONLY and ONLY during September. If you already have a library card you can NOT sign up again. This is for NEW cards only. The parent must come in with child and the parent must have proof of address and the parent must sign for the child. It has to be either a parent or someone with legal custod
