  1. www.murphyharpst.org is in Cedartown and houses and counsels the MOST abused and neglected kids in the state. They are an amazing organization that could always use additional help.
  2. I saw that story yesterday. It is wrong, and bleeding the system, but blame the government that made that decision, not the person.
  3. Really?! Look up "description" and tell us what you find. There's one in every crowd...
  4. EMC Security. 16.95/month, NO CONTRACT and GREAT service.
  5. When you consider that according to the research of Gary Kleck, Ph.D., a professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University, of the million or more defensive gun usages which occur in the U.S. every year, the vast majority never see a shot fired because the threat of being shot is usually enough to stop the crime in progress, an intimidating appearance or sound is very valuable. This alone makes a short-barreled 20 or 12 gauge shotgun the top choice as a home defense gun for most people.
  6. And you "think" this based on your vast experience and many, many years as a firefighter? You take every opportunity possible to get in some sort of negative comment about our public safety. While the intent may not have been there, that's exactly how you come across. Way to go PCFD!
  7. You're taxed on the FINAL sales price which will have the rebates included. Example: $15000 - $3500 rebate = $11500 plus tax
  8. Couple of things: Decide on model and TRIM, look at kbb.com, edmunds.com, etc., for dealer invoice (you can't avoid frieght) and pay no attention to that "paint and underbody protector" crap. You're looking at MSRP on the window sticker, nothing more. Offer invoice minus any rebates, they'll get those anyway. 99% of the time they will not dip into hold-back. If they want to move that vehicle they'll take the deal or counter a little...I mean a little, more than invoice. Good luck!
  9. The station was buit for considerably less money than originally planned, and was paid for by SPLOST funds. I can't imagine anyone complaining about building additional fire stations when we are in such need, considering the population of the county.
  10. You're saying the fire station is a waste of money?
  11. Yes, they are now required by the state to have four trucks.
  12. Incorrect. I know you've had converations in the past with Region One, I'm assuming with David Lofton, but you're wrong about this. There has to be a minimum of FOUR trucks running in the county. And, what makes you think response times have increased? Just curious.
  13. thanks to ej78 and momof 3, i don't think there's anything left to say.
