  1. I voted "yes" on Phil....He's a northern groundhog... Now, Beau on the other hand, hopefully "no"!
  2. If he had time to do that, he had time to "activate" his "plan" to use his famous "120 pieces of equipment" that he kept bragging about! JMO of course.
  3. Well, parents cant say they didnt have a warning Spring Break may be cut short. Plenty of time to change plans.
  4. Because if the CO dares to add school days onto the end of the year, so many mommies and daddies wont be able to dart off on that summer vaca! Waaaaa Waaaaaa And if they dare use winter break, those darn mommies and daddies will still whine.
  5. You can say this til you are blue in the face. He may be a good man....dont know....dont care.... Bottom line::: He made a piss poor choice. HE needs to make changes on how HE finds out about the weather....HE needs to pay attention to the local and national weather HIMSELF. HE has a brain in that head and HE has common sense. The latter he needs to use more.
  6. Since Georgia spent millions to send employees to other states to see how they deal with snow and ice, they should have known, in those other states, plows and trucks take priority on the roads. And if you do not let them have priority, you get a big fat ticket sent to you in the mail. (Those trucks take tag numbers.)And it ain't cheap......take it from me. A $250.00 fine will get ones attention...it sure did mine. Thanks for the education Oakland County, Michigan! I still see failure in having a game plan ahead of time. Officials need to stop blaming citizens for being on the roads..
  7. First and foremost, Mr Cliff Cole! Then Mr Deal and Mr Reed... It is evident they are not weather followers!
  8. I understand, and I like reading and understand little as well. I just think people (not mets) in position to make calls that affect so many lives should pay attention to more than 1 outlet for information.
  9. Yep! And The Weather Channel has mentioned it too! We shall see!
  10. That may be correct. I just remember them staying late to make up time missed.
  11. Yep! And the Governor and Mr Reed were at a luncheon while the city was crumbling! Mayor and Governor both admit being asleep when storm was upgraded to Warning status!
  12. Yep! I posted it in another thread....the Cliff Cole debacle thread, I think!
  13. Why the NWS???? Thats what they were all watching Tuesday! And they STILL GOT IT WRONG!
  14. Alabama News Channel 10 says: How crazy is this? After Warm-up over the next week, models are indicating more snow in the Deep South Feb 8-18. IF this is indeed true, how long will it take our illustrious CO to make a decision? Lets place our bets now ladies and gents! PS.....IF an Alabama station sees this forecast, aint no way I will believe the NWS doesnt!
  15. Bottom line.... The CO should have called school earlier instead of dicking round and staying until 1 so it would COUNT AS A SCHOOL DAY! It does NOT take 4 1/2 hours to get the buses to school!
  16. LR, didnt the kids have an hour tacked on to the end of the regular school day to make up for time misssed? I may be wrong...but I could swear we had an extra hour added to the day... And, I am with you, someone will surely set me straight!
  17. Of course! They had to wait and see what Cobb did!
  18. So....what you are trying to get me to believe is, our LOCAL weather folks have better radars than the NWS???? If so, that tells me that the folks in charge of making decisions on school closings really shouldnt be paying attention to NWS and listening more to their local weather peeps!
  19. My Nixle says 7:55pm yesterday
  20. Notice how Cobb and Cherokee have already closed.......and how Paulding is once again, dragging their feet!
