  1. Just happened. Might be awhile. Not sure about injuries, but it hard enough that there could be.
  2. Hubby just called and said the it was bad and the road is shut down. Helicopter is flying in now.
  3. No, it was just before the post office going towards Dallas. Not sure what happened but people get into that turning lane to merge back into the road. It is a very dangerous area.
  4. My goodness, I am sorry to hear they were hurt. Hope everyone is ok. Wish drivers would slow down, that is a bad place anyway
  5. There was a multi-car accident in Dallas just past the P.O. going away from Dallas. 3 or more vehicles involved including a black truck ran up the hill and a smaller car with the side looking skinned up pretty bad. Traffic was being redirected. Didn't see ambulances which is a good thing. Lots of people standing around. Hope all are ok. Traffic wasn't backed up yet, but with all of the tow trucks needed, I would avoid area for a little while.
  6. I saw it for a sec. Looked almost military. I thought it might be for that accident mentioned earlier on Tinsdale(sp?) Rd.
  7. S. Paulding. Ridge Road at Kroger shopping Center from Hiram turn left towards Douglasville. Lots of sirens going by.
  8. I saw the helicopter fly over after I got home from work a little while ago. Just heard a bunch more sirens going by just a few minutes ago on Bakers Bridge. Can't be the same accident, can it? Came on here to see if anyone knew what was going on.
  9. My 4th grader came home talking about how the green hall was flooded. I called the school and was told there was a minor fire and the sprinklers gave a good soaking to the kindergarten and great hall. Glad to know they work. I came on yesterday afternoon and didn't see anything. I don't how I missed this one.
  10. I was wondering about all the so cars on 61. They were at Sudie and 61 yesterday around 5:30 or so. Had just passed a large tree down. Glad the little one is ok. My mom, God rest her soul, had been watching my toddler while I took my baby to the doc. She let him play outside and he disappeared. We have nearly 3 acres of woods. I didn't know where to look first. I was on my way back to the house to call 911 when he came running. He had managed to crawl into mom's car and saw me calling, but I couldn't hear him answer me and he had a hard time opening the door. He was as upset as I
  11. If anyone was listening to the scanner on Saturday evening an 11-year old boy was in a bad atv accident. He was air lifted to Egleston Hospital with head injuries. He is ok and at home now. the child is doing ok and has a slight concussion, a black eye and some scratches. ETA: He asked me to post for him. He wanted me to add that he was wearing a helmet and a chest protector. The ER doc said it saved his life. He was riding with a friend when the friend saw his atv running w/o the child. He found him & they called an ambulance. He doesn't remember what happen
  12. Any updates? I was out yesterday and was bombarded by my coworkers this morning to jump on and see what happened. They said they watched police and SWAT roll out yesterday.
  13. That is sad. He was a sweet man and very loved by his family.
  14. My husband called just a little while ago. Lifeflight was landing at Kroger. Just said he was told a very bad motorcycle accident happened and that the rider didn't survive, but not certain with lifeflight there. Prayers are being said.
  15. Bob Denver Bob Denver passed away on Friday after from complications from cancer. One of my favorite characters.....
  16. That is so sad. I didn't know Coach Phillips personnally, but he was a huge presence when I was in school and was very admired. He will be sorely missed.
  17. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. They were deeply felt and appreciated. She is at peace and looked more content than I had seen her in years. She was beautiful.
  18. Not sure if anyone knew her from here. She was born August 25, 1932 in Alabama. We lived in Hiram across from the school since 1963. People used to park in our yard for the Fall Festival. She worked at ARA services with Lockheed for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Rev. Aubry Brown from Valley, Alabama, her sister Vivian Nixon, her son Michael in 1965 and her husband, Bennie Frank Carson, in 2001. She has always been a stubborn woman. She was put on hospice the first time back in 1990 with cirrhosis and survived much to the amazement of everyone. She
