I wonder where Roy stands on immigration? That is HUGE to me. I'm sick of ALL illegals! Not just mexican...but ALL.
Read this:
http://wsbradio.com/localnews/2010/07/roy-barnes-backs-az-immigratio.html
Apparently Barnes supports the AZ law. That gives him one check in my book.

May be totally irrelevant, but King Jerry used to talk about how buddy-buddy he and Sam Olens were. That could say alot by itself.
Looks like another irrelevant smear, so, yes, it's irrelevant.
-
I'm glad you 'praised' Mr. Donovan. I fear, given WFAL's experience, that if you hadn't, he'd have threatened to sue you for libel too.
pubby
Very cheap shot.

Wow, that's so incredibly sad. Makes ya wonder where he was going that it was THAT important, to risk all the lives involved, especially his own little boy. He's got to live with that forever...I'm glad your son is ok psd, God must have been watching over him that day. (end hijack, sorry)
You are very kind. My son benefited from the experience but we both would prefer never to go through it again.
-
Wow! Glad he's okay. That's sad about the child. Was there drinking involved or just stupidity?
I don't know for sure about drinking or drugs, but recklessness, disregard for human life, stupidity and the possibility that he was fighting with his girlfriend are all factors.

I've gotta go with the party. Can't vote for a Democrat - they just like to spend our money
...as they are currently proving in spades. I've yet to meet a Democrat politician I trust. And, let me clarify. Democrat politicians promise the world and target those who do not pay taxes by promising to provide entitlements paid for by those of us who do pay taxes.

That involved passing on Dabbs Bridge Road as I recall didn't it?
Has your son recovered from that OK?
Yes, Clark passed going westbound on Dabbs Bridge and passed in a corner ignoring the double line. He was going well above the speed limit when he struck my son's Explorer head on.
And, thanks for asking. My son and his girlfriend were OK - just a few scratches.
Son's truck:
Clark's car:

How sad. He prosecuted the guy whose son died? Was it a DUI?
Long story - my son was a victim. Mr Clark was driving recklessly and caused the collision.

I wonder if one of these bad cops could run into AE sometime? Perhaps one has and beat the hell out of em. We could only hope.
AE had better hope he stays clean. He did something illegal at one time and is obviously very p-o-ed that he got caught.

I am really sick of seeing all the posts against the LEO's. You really need to get over it. Their are bad people in every walk of life.
I think that the OP is very angry. Perhaps it is because he was caught doing something that he should not have been doing. He is acting childish.

There has been no discussions on the other statewide offices to speak of.
Are the [R] voters going to vote in the Republican primary or switch over to the [D] ballot to vote against Roy and company ?
Ag is getting a new commissioner after 40something years of Tommy Irwin [D].
I am a big supporter of Gary Black [R]. Gary has been more active in Georgia Agriculture with the Ag Center than Irwin has for the past 10-15 years, and will make a great commissioner.
This one has already gotten MrsSurepip in trouble at the Ag Department as the Powers that Be, found out I was an aquaintance of, and a supporter in the past of Gary Black and have held that against the Mrs when other job openings in the commissioner's office became available.
Mark Barnes [R] seems to have his sticks together as Labor Commissioner.
And his probably opponent will be MrsSurepip's ex-boss Terry Coleman [D], who has been Deputy Ag Commissioner for the past 2-1/2 years. Mr Coleman was the last Democrat Speaker of the house between Murphy and Richardson. We were not impressed.
I really like Carol Porter [D] for Lt Governor. Never have care for Casey Cagle and his crowd. But I won't be able to vote for Ms Porter and Gary Black, so I will have to stick with supporting Gary Black on the [R] ticket and hope Porter gets the nod to be on the November ballot.
The rest of the races are pretty much unknowns to me other than maybe the state senate seats, but Hamrick's opposition is not impressive although I am think Bridges may give Heath a race.
Insurance commissioner has 9 [R]s running so I assume a run-off is in the making there.
Attorney General and Public Service are unknowns to me except Olens, the old Cobb Commissioner Chairman. King Jerry used to claim to have a great working relationship with Olens, so I will tend to shy away from him.
What say ye?
I have never ever voted Democrat. Never will. I'll vote honestly in the Republican primary. I realize that Roy will be the liberal candidate. I hope he gets his behind kicked.
-
Going to be a tough one. I have seen Drew in action and I am sorry no way I could vote for him. I sat on a jury and he did not win the case the other guy lost it. His client was guilty as hell and did not even try to deny it.
I have had first hand experience with Mr. Lane when he prosecuted Rodney Clarke - he hit my son head on - Rodney's six year old son was killed. I was unimpressed. Of the choices, if I lived in Paulding, I would support Mr. Donovan.

I don't think he is the best choice! I think there are at least 3 good choices on the Republican side. I am just having trouble deciding which is best. After watching what the Democrats have done at the Federal level and in the states where they are in control I would never vote for one of them. Georgia is in far better shape than the states where they have so many Progressives/liberals in charge.
Yep, NO Democrats. And, no Roy Barnes.

Just thought some folks might be interested. Especially if they are still undecided. Undecided seems to have an advantage right now.

Your sailing just missed the exclusive Cruise Planners sale with Celebrity. The sailings end April 2011.
That's OK. We got a really great price.

Legalized drugs and prostitution, sounds like a fun vacation to me. I've always wanted to go to Amsterdam. I just don't fly. I hate flying. And there's no way I'll survive a flight that long. Now a boat would be good as long as I don't vomit every other day.
Transatlantic on the Equinox next May. Best way to do it!!
-
I will be posting a city a week. Places that you can cruise to besides the Caribbean.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city with much to see and do.
Here is just an example......
Experience the fun and fascinating World of Vodka: see, taste, and feel! It's the first and only Vodka Museum in Europe. It's an adventure that takes you back in time, from the origins of Vodka, to the world of cocktails and bar-tending today.
At the Vodka Museum Bar you can also make a movie about your experience at the Museum and mail it to your friends!
There is also a 3-story souvenir shop and a Museum shop selling… 112 sorts of vodka.
Make Amsterdam a stop on your next cruise!
We're working on booking our 2011 cruise and it looks like we'll take a 14 dayer next May on the Celebrity Equinox - transatlantic! My wife and I are both excited.

I know we have some problems currently in the DA's office with timely prosecutions and with conviction rates, but I'm not sure how much of that can be blamed on the DA personally. If Mr. Lane needed help solving these problems, he certainly hasn't been very vocal about it. In fact he seems perfectly happy to stand on his record. However, I'm willing to give Chad a try and see if we can get some improvement.
I'm afraid that Mr. Donovan has shown me all I need to know about him in another thread here, and I won't be casting my vote for him under any circumstance.
At the time that Clark was tried, there had been some significant turnover in the ADAs which is probably what delayed the trial.
-
I've had experience with Drew Lane when he prosecuted Rodney Clark, the young man whose reckless driving resulted in a head on collision with my son's truck and killed Clark's 6 year old son.
My only comments are that the case was not prosecuted in as timely a fashion as I would have liked and that Clark got off with a sentence that was far too light.
PSD You forget very easy, I have been trashed on this board, And yes My real name has been posted on this board, More than one time, And even some of my personal records have been posted , I have been outed (Called out by name) on the local news channel By a Previous Commission Chairman for asking the DA office to conduct a Grand Jury Investigation into the activities of a recent past school board, I have met you and you have met me at a luncheon, And if your memory serves you well, You certainly know who I am. I have not hidden behind a screen name on P.com as many of my critics have, I would say that 90% of the posters, Know me, and who I am, and what I stand for.

Having said that Ithy has posted links to his web site, on this web site that in fact identified him, by directing those to his site, by writing an article complete with his name at the beginning of the article, Along with a picture of himself.

As reported in another thread in this forum Ithy was banned a while back, was allowed to become a member again because the moderators convinced Pubby that he would abide by the rules, and was again allowed to post, Pubby banned him again for violation of posted rules. After that

Chris has a web site in which he can post anything that his heart so desires, And yes if you desire to post comments back to him, You can do so.

I refuse to be a part of the PITY PARTY being carried on in this thread, He brought this on himself, and he will have to pay the consequences.

That is all
Whitey, I am an old fart and sometimes do not remember everything. I am sorry if you were trashed. However, I don't think that excuses the gang-up of Praise Thee (Ithiel). Enough is enough.
-
You are too kind!
Not sure about "too kind". I just call them the way I see them.
-
Not the same. I know you as Sound Guy. I knew Chris as Ithy/PT until the crud hit the fan. I think you should have any opinion you want to have on here and be able to argue and defend it. (and get called out on it)
It gets personal and flat out flippin ridiculous that one persons real name is being used and things said about his personality, personal appearance, and other things, and the guy is NOT even running for office. (Nor able to defend himself)
This has not be a discussion only on what he wrote. (as if it were the AJC or USA) This has been a witch hunt of a person through many threads.
I am not defending what he wrote. I am not saying not to blast what he wrote. I am saying this whole thing has blown up into a bash one person free for all.
(BTW what you quoted about going over to the other site to post, was not saying NOT to post HERE, but that you had the option to do both, whereas the person being bashed did not)
Again, Bella, excellent analysis and right on the money. Heaven forbid if a similar trashing of say, Surepip or Whitey, were to take place on pcom.

If it weren't for p.com I would have not known about it. I do not get a local paper delivered. I would say, the not known, the heat, it being summer and many being on vacation, going to weddings, reunions, etc., and being Father's Day weekend had more to do with it then people being disenfranchised with the party.
Bella, good analysis.
How did your Statewide Candidates do ?

I'm not a fan of Barnes anyway.
Typical politician. From the above, we can assume that being a lock - step Dem, Roy would support Obama's plan to grant amnesty.
