  1. My Ford F-150 has a zillion miles on it and it's still running just as good as the day I bought it. I love my Ford truck!!!! (Actually is has just under 300,000 miles on it), my only drawback is it sure dents the wallet when I go to fill up.

I don't like Chevy though. I got burned by a car dealer at Macland Rd & Dallas Hwy and I swore then I'd never buy another chevy.... and that's been 19 years ago since I've bought a chevy! Maybe Obama will close him down..... :angry2:

I've owned many Chevys over the years and no problems at all. I like the Chevy dealer to which you refer. We also own two Fords - Crown Vic (97) and 500 (06) - no major problems.

Maybe Obama will stay out of the private sector as he should - well, I can hope, but, so far, Obama is showing the world that he is a Socialist.

  2. I disagree, the market goes up and down on it's own. We have experienced several recessions in the last 50 years, we have recovered. If we had not given the bail out money what would have happened?? They would have filed bankruptcy, shut down dealerships, laid off employees and closed plants. What is different now than before the tax payers bailed them out???

This administration is saying if they don't spend this money we will be in a full blown depression. Since when does spending money you don't have make you better off. If you continue to use your credit cards and have no income, how are you going to pay the bill?? This is exactly what 0bama is doing. He is spending tax payer money that doesn't exist, yet.

I think too many people are buying this "sky is falling" crap. Apply some common sense and maybe you will see this in a different light.

I agree with you. Let the free market alone. The government is a total failure at managing anything. Strange that the left (WT in particular) cannot see (or hear) that it is P-BO who is crying that the economy is in drastic shape and the sky is falling.

  3. A sales tax by any other name is still a sales tax. The one being talked about is on top of any income taxes we're paying.

Oh, I realize that. Do you mean that WT will have to pay more taxes based on everything he buys? Both goods and services? Oh no, he was counting on lower taxes.

  4. The news this week is some in congress are talking about putting a 10% Federal sales tax on everything - including both domestic and foreign cars. I wonder what that will do to sales.

You mean the "Value Added Tax"? Canada calls their federal sales tax "GST" and that is in addition to the PST (Provincial Sales Tax). In the UK, they just call it VAT.

  5. ...the movers are coming tomorrow so this will be my last post as a resident of Paulding County - next time you hear from me I'll be a citizen of the Common Wealth of Kentucky sitting on my deck over looking my creek that runs through my 11 acres (Yup, I'm bragging :p )

I must say that living here has been a great experience. I have learned a lot, and seen a lot that I could not learn or see anywhere else. Don't worry I'll still be on the board keeping an eye out on all of you.

    Wishing you all the best!

I'll tell Big Red Y'all said hi.....

    Good luck to you, MCMM!

  6. They shown on tv the verdict is in the jury is back details later

Channell 2 just shown it running across the bottom of the tv.,,, but they did not say what the verdict was... just that the jury was back with a verdict..

wow only what an hour? after they took lunch

    Good. Now execute this slimeball.

  7. This Friday is Our Car Cruise. We will have some Great Cars here including the new Released 2010 Camaro. Like the one From the Transformer movie. Come by and see all the great cars. And prizes. Hope to see you here. It's this Friday from 6pm- 10pm. :clapping: :yahoo:

I'd love to come but I'll be out of town. Maybe I'll make it in June.

  8. Hey BB, just waned to let you know that it is not all a guy thing. Here are some pics. of me at Atlanta Motor Speedway. My DH got me this as a christmas gift. I went in July of 06. I love me some nascar.

when I ask my spotter how fast I was going he said between 155 to 160 mph.

I had a blast, in those 10 laps .OH yea I did do the driving

Yes, driving fast is not just a guy thing. My ex drives a new Corvette.

  9. I really wish I thought that too but there is a very strong history with these two............... I respect your opinion but it will be quite evident to you if you go back and search various threads and I know you are intelligent so you will be able to figure it out. Once again, I would love to believe the posts are "just in jest" but I have enough common sense to know otherwise.

    P. S. You are right IB - Powder Springs Dad's car is a "sweet car" isn't it? I love the color and I don't really see many cars these days that color.

There are not many Coronets I've seen around here period. Mine is very special, at least to me, and, I really appreciate the compliments from you and IB. As far as the need for speed goes, I see that your husband realizes his need in a safe and healthy way...and, that is a good thing.

Because my old cars are 40 and 42 years old, I give them regular exercise but I do not stress mechanical components.

  10. That is a beautiful car Powder Springs Dad!!! What color is that as it is one of the best colors I have ever seen on a car.

The Camaro and Corvette would work out for hubby but when we retire permanently to the beach, he says we are getting a Shelby Mustang - he has always been infatuated with those.

The Mustang is a lovely and very fast car as well. Just do not be enticed by the supporters of Asian transportation (I am very anti Asian cars). My 67 Coronet R/T is finished in color code MOPAR QQ1, Dark Red Metallic, with a matching P6R, dark red interior. It is supposedly only 1 of 12 4-speed R/Ts built in this color combination.

  11. What is it with you guys and your need for speed? My husband recently did the Richard Petty driving experience at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte and had a blast! He is not even much of a NASCAR fan but he did have fun driving the car while I was a literal nervous wreck - we've been married 29 years and I want him to be around for many more years!

Is this "need for speed" something that males are just automatically genetically presdisposed to? Here he is at the beginning of his "adventure".

Define "speed". TBAR thinks he is fulfilling his need for speed on his scooter. Pubby thinks he is suppressing his need for speed in a hybrid or electirc car like the Prius (yeck - what a butt-ugly car).

I know that I am fulfilled by this:

Maybe what your hubby needs is a timeless classic American muscle car. Or, maybe a new Camaro SS or Corvette!

  12. If I was going to suggest one person to do this it would be PSD, my reasons being he has prolly driven or been around most muscle cars from the time of there origin to now, ( no offense ) but He would be the one that has the expierience to compare the new to the old and would be very informative on his comparisons.

    JMO..

I like your thinking. There is an article in the latest Hemmings Muscle Machines regarding a test drive of the new Camaro. I'll be reading it this weekend.
