  1. Blues can be very difficult...I know. They are better working dogs than inside dogs and have a tendency for aggression. They are very intelligent with high energy and if they don't get enough stimulation and exercise they can become destructive and aggressive.

I have a funny looking mutt that I rescued. He's adorable, and an odd mix. Turns out, people in England are paying several hundred dollars for his mix. He wasn't intentional, but in England he would be a designer pooch. I don't care if he's a mutt or a pricey designer dog, he's priceless to me.

  2. Actually, the advice about going to another ER came from someone who worked at Paulding Wellstar. They have moved on now to another hospital, but this person told me that Paulding's care is just fine for simple, uncomplicated issues. There aren't many specialists available locally or the same level of medical equipment as compared to other hospitals. Its not a slam against the hospital, it is smaller and less equipped that Kennestone on Cobb. I was simply making the point that if you go to Paulding with some issues, you get transferred or they have to send your xrays, tests, etc to another hospital to be read and it takes longer to get treatment. I took a family member and every test had to be sent to Cobb and it took longer.

The suggestion that a child not be taken to Paulding ER, if possible, came from a pediatrician. There was follow-up to a pediatrician after an ER visit. A med was given to a toddler that was not appropriate for someone that age. The pediatrician said that it was better to drive farther to a hospital that has a pediatrician available in the ER, unless it is a life or death situation.

I have waited for a long time in other ERs when there was a full waiting room, but its frustrating when there's only two other people and NO ONE is being seen. You finally, get taken back and there are open rooms in the ER. So I don't think its unreasonable to ask, why I had to sit for two hours in pain in the waiting room?

  3. Sorry to put a negative spin on this. I have also had an ok experience when I went to the ER from an ambulance, unfortunately the problems occur when you WALK in. That's where my bad experiences have happened. Front desk staff has been fine, but actually being helped in the ER has been the problem. Now, I would understand if there was a lot of people, but they have left me waiting for two hours (doubled over in pain from a kidney stone) with two other people in the waiting area. Its also not good to go to Paulding for anything that is more than just basic care. Stitches, run of the mill injuries yes. Anything that involves specialists or special equipment is a pain because you just get transferred to another hospital which adds time to getting treatment or they have to send things off to another hospital... not the staff's fault, but Paulding doesn't have the equipment or staff. They also don't have a pediatrician in the ER (unless it has changed recently) If possible, go to another hospital ER with kids.

  4. I moved to GA Heritage from Regions and have NEVER looked back. The one drawback is fewer locations. They still run like a small-town bank. They are have really good customer service. You can actually talk to a local person instead of some corporate customer service who knows where.

  5. I went to Imperial Palace a couple of times and it was really good. In the last couple of weeks, I stopped by and got take-out and it was almost inedible. The hot and sour soup tasted like someone put a whole shaker of black pepper in vinegar and heated it up. The Pad Thai (had it before and it was great) did not taste the same, at all. I picked out some of the chicken and then fed it to my dogs. There must have been someone new cooking. I want to go back because I really liked it the first two times, but now I'm not sure I want to risk wasting my money again. I have no concerns about cleanliness, it was the taste of the food that was the problem.

  6. First of all New York has nothing to do with this. Yes I am from New York born and raised and PROUD of it. I will say all of these sound the same with the southern way of speaking!!!!

pin and pen and while and whale and Don and Dawn. should i continue. People in the north pronounce the word as it should be so you can understand it and don't have to say what what. No I don't have a hearing problem.

The problem may not be with your hearing, but with your attitude. There are many accents in the English language. YOUR way of saying something is not the only way. DO they pronounce words incorrectly in England as well, SINCE THEY DON'T PRONOUNCE WORDS THE SAME AS IN THE NORTH?

By the way, which area of the NORTH has the correct way of speaking? Is that up-state NY, NY City, NJ, Boston, DE/RI, Wisconsin....oh wait...maybe Canada...that's really NORTH...eh? Seems like many areas in the north pronounce words differently.

  7. This was the best I could come up with about the gestation of the eggs........

One generation develops each season. In the autumn, females lay eggs in a large mass or cluster (an inch or so long), in a frothy, gummy substance glued to tree twigs, plant stems and other objects. Overwintering occurs in the egg stage in this case. Tiny nymphs emerge from the egg mass in the spring or early summer.

    COOL PIC!!

One Christmas, a couple of days after putting up the tree that was cut at a farm, we started hearing something that sounded like water drops hitting the presents. We kept looking, and finally found itty bitty praying mantis babies falling out of the tree. We found a nest in the tree. Apparently, the heat interrupted the normal cycle and they hatched too early thinking it was spring. It was creepy, but neat. We had to open presents with dead premie praying mantis's on them that year.

  8. I grew up locally with a season's pass almost every summer and spent many many summer days there. I even worked there part of one summer. I hadn't been for several years until a couple of years ago and I won't go back. The workers are extremely rude and the service at stands and in lines is HORRIBLE. I know most of them are kids, but we would NEVER have gotten away with half of what I witnessed and experienced. We were kids and not perfect, and I expect that, but this was way beyond teenage immaturity.

  9. It makes trying to teach Social Studies very difficult. It really messes up some students' concepts of city and county. Trying to convince some students that they DO NOT live in Acworth or Powder Springs, even though that's what their address says, is not easy. We've explained and explained, pulled out the local maps, drawn diagrams....

  10. I've been a fan of the show since the start. I don't think there are any stand-outs and wonderful dancers from the start like the last couple of seasons, (Like Kristie Yamaguchi last time) but it will make for a better show this time. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I agree Cloris Leachman adds unpredictable chaos to the show. At 82, I want to be able to do whatever the heck I want, too.

  11. Atlanta spilled over into Douglasville and Villa Rica through the I-20 corridor, now its spilling into the South end of Paulding. Drugs and gangs are pretty much everywhere now....but the Ridge Road and Bakers Bridge area is starting to get really bad. A lot of those sub divisions and individual houses are really going down-hill fast.
