This story makes me so sick. Have you ever seen a murderer in real life? It is such a creepy feeling. I got called to do jury duty and was sitting behind this kid. I am thinking I am here for something silly. All of a sudden they ask this kid to stand aka Nicholas Tate. They read off a list of charges. I felt so sick to my stomach. I was right next to him. I could not believe not only what I was there for , but I was sitting next to him. You would think that a murderer would not be so close to people there for jury duty. I felt extremly uncomfortable. How old do you think your child should be for them to get a cell phone? I like the part how they are able to have a phone with them to be able to call you, but it seems so young. I have such mixed feelings on this. I have a feeling my daughter is going to start asking for one soon and I will be saying no. I had a bunch of girls stay the night this weekend for my daughters birthday. Well, it was her cousin who is a few years old and some of her friends also. The are in 4th grade and all of them had cell phones. Not only does that seem too early, but I do not want to pay for it. lo

I think the pill is still great, but stds is way important also! That is why educating the children is so important on pregnancy and std. I do not know what is happening, but I know the number has to have grown drastically over ten years. Not sure if someone knows how to pull up a statistic on that, but I would like to see it. I met mine in sixth grade-We went out then- i have a polaroid of us kissing for a kissing contest - It is kind of funny Then he asked me to homecoming in 9th grade- Then he left schools without even telling me- lol and we did not speak really through HS bc we were at different ones. Yes I know, But I meant they can talk to your children about it because they will know. They will still talk to them about pregnancy, disease, and getting an exam is important to look for pre-cancerous cells and many other things. All boys need a talking to also! It is a crazy world out there! It is important to talk to your children- male and female. That is awful

That would be nice, but I do not think it is reality. I think the reason so many teens are getting pregnant is because it is not talked about as much and they are not getting the prevention methods they should be taking. I would rather take my daughter to the ob and find out if she is active. If she is I would rather prevent it than say "you should be saving youself" -The dr's can tell if they are or are not. If they are not then great, but if they are I would want to prevent pregnancy instead of ignoring it. I would never encourage it in any way, but I think there is a difference in encouragi

I know the children make the decision for this to happen, but I have talk to so many kids parents who have never even taken them to the OBGYN. I just think going is so important. The doctors will talk to them about all that "stuff" and can offer methods of birth control and the teens will probably feel more comfortable telling them than the parents. I went to the OBGYN at 16 and have been going ever since. It is just crazy that there are even some adults who have never even been. Not that going would prevent this completely, but I do think many teens have sex (parents ignore) and the teens do

Just curious- What school was that? Was it South Paulding too? I asked a teen I know who goes to Paulding HS. She said it is not that bad there, but she said South Paulding was horrible. She had gone there the year before
