I have stopped for three car fires. I carry a 10 pound fire extinguisher in my truck. None of them have ever made a difference in a car fire where heat and fuel are present. Next time I will just let it burn - those extinguishers cost $70 each.

I'm glad it all ended well. I'm thankful for the great DPS workers that we have serving us daily - ready to respond to anything that may come their way. One other item that I did not relate in the posts. From what I picked up, one officer had responded to the home. The man showed up at the door with a rifle and the officer retreated to his vehicle to wait for backup to cover his retreat. I never picked up any fear in the officer's voice. If it is "saved" too much the insurance carrier may want to try and rebuild it - a lemon in the making. I didn't hear anything further on the call, but I suspect that someone is eating fried Golf this evening.

Last I heard was one unit saying to send all traffic re: the incident to him. Other units are being pulled to handle calls in the North zone as needed.

dispatch reports they have the male on the phone sounds like the guy came out with a gun on units 15:35 - must just be a guy with a gun - no hostage I can't tell if the address is Circle or Stoker road. I'm sure it is off of Cedarcrest.

I think the subdivision has Cedarcrest in the name. corrected>> 212 Stoker Road update: 4/4 12:28 - Since I didn't hear the initial call on this, I went back and listened to the archive on scanpaulding.com. Unit 191 was at the residence and called a 10-32 - suspect with firearm (rifle). SWAT was immediately activated.

I hope injuries were not too bad....

air rescue enroute - will be landing at the scene - ETA 5 minutes 11:35: Emory Flight 3 (Cartersville) calling B1 on 155.34. Requesting patient info - ETA 2 min. I missed the response - ETA 1 min. 11:36: extracation complete. 11:38: EF 3 on ground.

Rescue 1 went in service as this call came in - engine 1 was dispatched, and I believe R1 is enroute Clarks Med 1 just arrived. Engine 1 reports beginning extracation. 11:28 - B1/3410 on scene something tells me a chopper will be called in on this one 11:29: West 278 shutdown

Eng 1, 3410 and Clarks responding reports say truck rolled five times. 11:24 - one entrapped. Engine 1 requests assistance.
