  1. I wasn't being cheeky, I legitimately thought it was littlegypsymoth - I didn't take the time to click her name history. Now, I'm wondering where I got LittleGypsyMoth. WAIT!! Mystery solved... There's a LittleGypsyMoth on my Widespread Panic message board. An LGM in both places is crazy!
  2. I can't stand her circular conversations. I seriously feel like I'm listening to former member when I watch her testify.
  3. this is disgusting. The American justice system has FAILED. 15 year...please. I bet they don't make 10 with overcrowding, good behavior and whatever other crap they get...
  4. Did you miss my LGM post? I'm still full of piss and vinegar.
  5. I like the gift idea...but, I'm at a total loss as to WHAT. That's why I thought that the 529 college plan would be a good idea. What better gift than the gift of education?
  6. This level of independence will serve you well, young grasshoppa. I'm very proud of you. Now, but on Beyonce's "Put a ring on it" and get that boy moving in the right direction.
  7. My grandmother sent us a check for a baby gift. Now, like most grannys, she sends me the obligatory $50 check for my birthday and I usually just call her and tell her how grateful I am, how it’s going to buy me an adorable new twin set and I really tear it up and throw it away. She’s older, I’m not sure she really “balances” the check book to that level of detail any longer. Anyways, the check she sent for the baby is $300. Now, she’s not broke (she did plan well), but she’s on a fixed income and I really don’t want to take her money. I don’t need it, and I would be so much happier
  8. We have to double out income in order to hit our goal of retirement by 55, so yes - but I'll be busting ass until then.
  9. My son doesn't have a phone. I'm not trying to wipe his ass for him, but I believe in providing tools for success. Quite honestly, good time management skills taught and practiced now will give him a huge leg up for the rest of his life.
  10. Couple questions...In elementary school, they cannot mark off points on assignments for turning in work late - is this also true in public middle schools? My son has turned in several assignments late this year, and it's not adversely affected his grade (I wish it had) - does anyone have recommendations on time management systems for children? He had a big change going from private to public, smaller more 1:1 attention to larger, one size fits all education, so I'm thankful for the ramp...but, I'm also fearful he'll struggle when middle school triples the work load and he's got 6 teachers
  11. My absolute favorite was the Snorks, then Jem, Smurfs, Pound Puppies, Captain Caveman... Here you go, here's the way back machine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_Cartoon_Express
  12. Actually, we have the worst maternity leave system in the modernized world.
  13. She took the job at 6 months pregnant, it was part of her hiring agreement. I've questioned her commitment as well, but to be honest - why NOT go back to work if you get to have your baby in your office? I do freelance work, and plan to get right back to it when I get this baby birthed. BUT, that's from home.
  14. I actually think her idea was well intended, but not well thought out...and I think that speaks VOLUMES about her age and inexperience. I do believe that the best ideas come from people working together - meeting, face to face - it's just too easy to get on a concall and check email, surf paulding.com, ect. That said, webcam meetings, in my experience, are just as productive as in person meetings - though it takes some getting used to being on camera. All and all, she clearly didn't think through public perception, and while we all know that the boss is going to get the best office,
  15. I'd take my innovative ideas elsewhere if I were a Yahoo! employee http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/yahoo-ceo-builds-bnursery/story-fn7kifwb-1226586070723 This 37 year old one-hit wonder bans working from home...while she builds a NURSERY for her newborn in her office? Hey Melissa, what about ALL THE WOMEN that work for your company that live in the cheezety cube farms you stick them in? How about building a CAMPUS daycare and let your newborn go to school with the rest of the employee's children? And to add insult to injury, she takes away the ability to WFH. Oh Mel
  16. They call him jab jab jab jab jab jabber jaaaaaws - he's the latest, greatest shark you ever saw!
  17. Talk to MrsB, she has the same thing going on..it's not autism - It's time for a new damn doctor.
  18. They're all the same - you pay a premium, and a co-pay and a co-insurance premium. How they get you is all that changes...it's either up front in a co-pay or on the back end in a deductible or co-insurance premium. I've had them all... Actually, you make out much better if you go to a hospital than if you go through your physician. If I had gone to the ER instead of being referred to the hospital by my OB, my cost would have been $50. This only adds to the scheme of racketeering, IMO.
  19. I actually got married before getting pregnant, so that's not an option.
  20. Actually, you'd be fine. You would be considered indigent and get free medical coverage.
  21. I'll take bitch, but I won't take disgruntled.
  22. Everyday pushes me closer and closer to just saying "screw it" and becoming a welfare mamma for a couple of years while my baby is little.
  23. Seriously, if ones plate is THAT full - is a "leadership retreat for world peace across the country" REALLY a good idea? Furthermore, if one wants to go on such adventures, shouldn't they be willing to give up...blogging? I'm seriously not trying to be a bitch - it's just that this is what the future of our country looks like. I'm all for idealism, but we need some balance with realism, otherwise, we're going to be the next welfare country. We're leading lamb to the slaughter by enabling "dreams" without roots in reality. At the end of the day, travel is a luxury, and it's really a
  24. I had to go to the hospital for dehydration a few weeks ago...can you believe a bag of fluids and 3 hours in a bed cost over $2000. I got a nice bill for my portion, a mere $548. So, I was curious... Bag of fluids $2.79 http://www.savelives.com/product/sodium-chloride-09-500ml-bag-4710.cfm?gclid=CJ-nz5iV8rECFcZcMgodt3QA8A IV admin kit - $84.99 http://www.eastcoastmedicalsupply.com/exelIVadministration.aspx RN hourly wage, $30.85 x 4 = $123.40 http://www.ehow.com/about_6555837_average-rn-hourly-wage.html Hospital room - daily rate of $2548, 4 hours = $424.66 http://www.o
