    For every action there is a reaction............

     

    There are other things that cause wrecks besides speeding..... you are correct.

     

    When you are trying to send a message to the masses you must keep it simple.

    To answer your questions:

     

    1. There are a few People/Businesses involved. The idea was thought of by

    Curtis Carlin of Cregg Hatch Insurance of Hiram (Yes an Insurance Man) :p

     

    But the passion to be a doo gooder has nothing to do with Insurance.....it has to

    do with keeping your word.

     

    Curtis Carlin answered an e-mail to someone he did not know after the tragic

    death of Ms. Meeks on Dallas-Nebo Road and said to them something will be

    done to slow people down and maybe we can (will) save lives!

     

    Curtis Carlin called the County Commissioner's office and was put on the

    list to speek at the June 8th meeting. The Idea was for the county to endorse

    this project. That Idea is still in the works....

     

    But we could not (did not) wait for the county to move on this because every

    day there were unanswered accidents (even deaths) so......Curtis Carlin with

    friend's Ray Traylor, Joe Poole searched for the 1st location.

     

    This "Speed Kills" campaign would not be possible with out the following

    people/businesses:

    A: Spirit Car Wash/Charlie Zimmerman

    B: William Moore/ Moore's Towing

    C: F.L. Graphix/ Dean and Shelly Morgan

    D: Hope Depot of Hiram

    E: Countless Hours of Hard work by

    Joe Poole, Ray Traylor, Terry Wood

    Tony Adams and Curtis Carlin

     

    For the most part..... everything is donated! (No COST)

     

    Question 2: CURRENTLY THERE IS NO OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT BY ANY

    COUNTY OR STATE, CITY OFFICE. WE HOPE THAT WILL CHANGE! :p

    (but they ALL think it is a GREAT IDEA)

     

     

    Question 3: Was answered above.

     

    Question 4: We hope to place at least a dozen cars in strategic locations

    around the county.

     

    The second vehicle was just placed today at Hwy92 and Pine Valley!

     

    We still need locations and volunteers..... to make this happen ALL in a timely

    fashion.

    For those of you who replied to my first post.......

     

    I have started a SPEEDING CAMPAIGN to "SAVE LIVES"

     

    In case you have not not seen in or heard about it, here is what it is all about.....

     

    A month ago after young Ms. Meeks was killed on Dalls-Nebo road I came up with an Idea to slow people down hence..... Save LIVES!

     

    And I made a post on Paulding.com to find a solution to slowing people down!

     

    I spoke at the Commissioner's meeting on June 8th and asked them to indorse this campaign. I also asked City of Hiram Police, Dallas Police and Paulding County Sheriff's Department.

     

    At the time of this post 4:30pm June 18th 2004 est. Here is where I stand with our current elected officials:

     

    County Commissioners: Has Merit..... emailed to commissioners to get thier

    view on it.... will get back to me.

     

    Hiram Police: Chief Joiner....."Great Idea" anything I can do jus let me know!

     

    Dallas Police: Chief Hicks...... "No Response at time of this post"

     

    Paulding County Sheriff's:....... "No Response at time of this post"

     

    My Goal here is to start a "County Wide" Public Awarness Program by using the News Media. (it's FREE) to SAVE LIVES!

     

    The car you see in the photo is the 1st of many..... it is located on Hwy 278

    in between: SPIRIT CAR WASH and ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL in HIRAM!

     

    My Good Friend JOE POOLE (the one with Grey Hair :p ) is pictured with me.

    Could you please explain the best way for a new member to vote in your various

    virtual election poll's on this site.

     

    I have had a few people tell me that they could not find it easily.....
