My boys are watching it right now lol. They love this one and Super Why. I sing the super why song when my oldest does his letters good, but replace it with "Super Kyle, the super reader". I like shows of this nature.

There's no specific circumstance. Just a simple question. It seems to me at least that the variables are irrelevant to the question itself. Its just a hard question. The intention was for the person thinking about it to determine if they can have the same conclusion regardless of where in the instance themselves or their families might fall in. I dont have an answer myself even. I imagine my initial response would be yes, but as is human nature, I feel a little different when I'm on the recieving end of martyrdom. I thought it was a good question to get the noodle goin.

I wouldn't have a problem with a Muslim or anyone else giving their religion a "try" rather then medical means....... but the same restrictions should apply........ intent and wisdom. The intent should be what is best for the child.... and the wisdom is that if the problem doesn't yield swiftly then more traditional means should be employed.
Slopping all Christians (and any other denomination) together and saying they all believe the same thing is folly...... each sect and, indeed, each person has their own slant on the philosophy of the religion in question.

these parents have to deal with something worse than court. They have to deal with themselves. I cant justify the gov't getting involved in religion, so if it was left to me, these parents would probablby get away with this, but as I said before, they should be held to biblical law which in alot of cases is much harsher and more brutal than the laws of the land. Seeing as its Gods word, I doubt that many Xians can argue with that.

I'm still waiting to see how many people would still defend this if it were a muslim family or any other religion for that matter....is it only okay if Christian prayer fails? Is it acceptable then? "A good try"? If so, is it the same for someone else, or just Christians?

lol sometimes. I had a guy a few years ago come in and get "Asshole" on his shoulder like a rubber stamp. Most of the time, if its something I'm looking foward to doing, I just do it. The Munster was on a guy I work with, he's really into the hot rod scene, and Bennie Frank was just a guy who came in the door. He wanted a name, but I talked him into somethin a little cooler....sat like a champ.

I have trouble justifying the gov't involving themselves in religious practice, regardless of how absurd or even harmful I might personally feel it is, but I believe the bible mentions eye for an eye which I would imagine by the very biblical teachings which teachings led up to the death, would also be good enough to justify crucifixion of these parents on the nearest hillside...

seems to me that this whole thread is based on coming to Pcom to see if the huge percentage of right wing supporters on here would indicate that it was okay and acceptable to say this was offensive. I doubt this thread would even exist, had it been a different sign......I think its awesome that people are actively doing something and the fact there were voter registration forms out in the open is just the bees knees to me. Kudos to that doctor, regardless of his political views.

I thought I was focusing on the people that wrote the song and put this together. It was not just the parents, and you are right, crazy, extremist, nutcases. Again, I just don't understand putting hope in someone that has done nothing for this country and does not have the experience to take us forward.
I agree. Neither party has presented a decent choice to vote for. This election fits more into the scheme of the celeb-reality than it does actual politics or news.

Then why make Obama the focus and not the problem itself which is crazy extremists nutcases and parents who allow it to happen? Seems unfair to blame Obama so directly. Would you blame Bush for the Jesus camp kids?
