So, in your book it is okay for the city to buy a neon nativity scene so big and fancy that the only place it would fit is in front of the Mayor's personal church?

 

Do you think the city should buy a nativity scene to put across from every church in the city?

Is the city favoring one denomination over another it they put one next to one church and none next to other churches?

 

Is this the 'perogative' of the mayor to choose which church gets to display the city-owned nativity scene?

 

Why, when given the opportunity by many in the community, didn't the city dispose of the nativity to a church or other private group, the nativity scene and avoid this whole thing?

 

You know, back when it was determined that the city, becuase OF THE CONSTITUTION, would have to let the KKK march in the city's Christmas Parade, the city decided to cease its involvement and the Rotary and Civitan came in and, BECAUSE THEY WERE PRIVATE ENTITIES, were able to continue the tradition.

 

Why did the city follow the CONSTITUTION when Jeff Miller was Mayor and why does it thumb its nose at the CONSTITUTION when Boyd Austin is mayor?

I agree, however, there are LOTS of wasted gov't $$ that are a lot worse to me than a nativity scene... How come there is no "groups" protesting those wasted $$?? Nobody protested about the tax $$ wasted for the Dallas Christmas parade (cops used, clean up costs, etc) - what's the difference? There have been Christmas decorations bought and put up by counties for years (on the light poles) ~ why don't people have a problem with these?
