Colin Powell probably sees what many others do. Romney got the nomination based on how well he articulated rhetoric. There is no substance that would make him a good president. The only reason he is being supported is because people are convinced the world will come to an end if Obama gets re-elected, that also is based on rhetoric. The republicans have hurt themselves more than anything Obama could have done. Until the party accepts and changes people will continue to shy away from them. It came across that way, we had a public safety event last week, I didn't bother to count vehicles to know how many GOV vehicles were out there. I don't know if anyone was on the clock. The same event last year at the airport about 3 times as many people ran school buses for shuttle. I never heard a word about county cost. I pointed out all the other events. I don't have those precise numbers I heard one thrown out in passing and the website was not yet closed to presales. I thought you were asking if the airport activity was related to the making of a movie. I know that we have had some scenes filmed in Paulding over the last week or so. I am not sure if they are using our studio. I am not sure what policy if any is in place for press releases when movies are being shot in our studio.

The plan was to cover all the expenses, private and public through ticket sales. There was a lot of effort made to cut cost. For a budget airshow we could not have ask for better. Had we had more community support we would have had a better turn out. When you have naysayers, and people unwilling to pitch in to make a success of something then you have problems. I believe that the organizers of this event worked very hard to break even and to cover all the expenses. Especially for the county services. Air shows of this type tend to bring in over 20,000 visitors and 10's of thousands

What exactly do you think a bus route cost the county year in and year out. We have 10,000 in the budget to do something nice for the taxpayers you think we need to hire someone for the next 20 years. There is no need for people to get personal about this. We all have a different way of looking things. Most of it is based on personal experiences. I tend to be supportive of the county officials, it does not mean I agree with everything or have not been on the short end of the stick, which I frequently am by the way. I have watched enough to know this is par for the course in everything we do in this county. I don't hold grudges or waste my time getting mad. Every time someone sticks their neck out myself included people line up with the axes.

I can't understand why you don't understand budgeting. I have a budget, I don't obligate myself to the highest possible out put on my bills like many have and do. Because I don't obligate myself in that way I get to go out to dinner, go on a little shopping spree. Spend a day at an airshow. I certainly don't have any knowledge of the details of this event. Who got paid what and why. I do know what I saw through the eyes of an event planner. The amount of county assistance was not anymore over the top than what I saw at the last public safety event held at the airport. I have never heard a word of criticism related to that event. All the displays out there need gas to get there and they are county and state vehicles. Last year shuttle buses were used. They have been getting ready for an airshow since Thursday, the show was Saturday. There are 2 stories on the front page about it and about 3 current threads.

Every time you and postman take my side,THEY are like there ya go we told you she was a liberal. I know exactly what I am, I have never voted Democrat with the exception of Zell Miller.
