Sources tell Channel 2 Action News that multiple people were shot in a Paulding County neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. The SWAT team has been called to the scene on Pine Valley Drive just outside of Hiram. A source says someone is firing shots at deputies who are responding to the scene. The neighborhood is being evacuated.

The Cherokee County Marshal’s Office says it has recovered the remains of a K-9 at the former home of former Cherokee County school resource officer Daniel Peabody. Peabody is accused in the deaths of two K-9s, including one that was left in a hot car in June. The remains were examined by a forensic veterinarian on July 5 were found to be that of a Belgian Malinois around 10 years old. Authorities said it was likely killed by a gunshot, not the remains of the yellow Labrador that Peabody claimed to have shot and killed. You have to be 18- years-old to ignite fireworks, and you can't have any drugs or alcohol in your system. Public places like roads and parks are off limits, and you have to stay at least 100 yards away from hospitals and gas stations. I was in Grady's ICU burn unit for 2 weeks, i had 3rd degree burns on my legs, I do not know anything else about Grady, but I can tell you, thier burn unit is wonderful.... they took really good care of me.... and yes the scrubbing of the burns are HORRIBLE..... i would not wish that pain on my worst emeny, they would give me morphine before they scrubbed my burns, and it just helped me tolerant it 2x a day, my legs were bloody and raw. but Thanksfully Grady took really good care of me, and I have no scars on my legs, or nerve damage.

I know this all to well. my son was hurt on the job, and he had to have back surgery, he is young, so he will have to deal with this the rest of his life... he has a rod, screws, and a bracket in his back.. and we had a time with his job paying for it, they wanted to do the same thing, do one surgery but not the other one... he ended up getting a lawyer and he had his surgery the way it was suppose to be done. and he was in the hosiptal over a week, then PT, for months, his back will never be the same.. but you better bet the job he worked at and got hurt at paid for thier slacking part. not
