  1. He isn't that good folks, his Daddy said so himself. If you read any of the books on Sr. its no secret that KELLY was the real star when it came to driving, Jr. had to beg and plead to get in a car. Most of Jr's wins have come on tracks where luck is more important then racing, Daytona and 'Dega. Nascars version of bumpercars meets county fair figure 8 racing.

  2. Take a little time to understand how these projects are funded, when they were approved, and how those funds can ONLY be used. You will see a whole new light on these matters. It's not anywhere as simple as people think they are!

Piss Poor planning from the start, yeah, its pretty easy to figure out.

  3. If you do not live here, how can YOU talk about the BOC or BOE? Where do you get your info, PCOM? Boy, that's a real good source!

Your right, I have no friends that I talk to in Paulding that have kids in the school system or others that still live in the county. I didn't live there and see how F'd up the county was for about 5 years. I do get ALL my info from this site, none from other sources. I don't own a home there that I am still trying to sell and don't pay taxes to help put kids I don't have through that crappy school system. I don't have a close friend that is a teacher at EPHS or another that is a teacher at one of the middle schools. I have no idea what is going on, I have my head in the sand like 90 percent of the population. /s

  4. And who's to say the while the "new" people are in office that they don't make matter worse? Because the do not know the whole story, work full time jobs and don't have the time or unwilling to take the time, to get up to speed on the real issues and the laws? A completely new board could cause more problems then they fix and take many years after they are gone to fix. Look at Clayton County's BOE for example!

Its the devil you know vs. the devil you don't. If you don't change anything things will be the way they are. I don't live in PC anymore so I really don't have a dog in the fight, but personally I don't see how anyone can defend the BOE or BOC in Paulding.

  5. NASCAR does this to themselves. I don't even watch anymore it isn't racing. They should just race 10 laps demolition derby style and not waste everyones time with the rest. They claim this is "what the fans want". The only fans I know that enjoy this are the same that only go for the wrecks. Real fans watch racing, not bumper cars at 190+. JMO.

  6. Sorry, but PREDOMINATELY white colleges are not called white colleges. Reality bites both ways and has for a lot longer than 40 years.

They are actually called HBCU or HISTORICALLY BLACK Colleges and Universitys. It is a title given to those schools that were started for minorities when they were not allowed to attened other universites. Some of the best schools in this country are HBCUs and yes people of all races can and do attend them.

  7. I am not the right person to try and make the case for Christianity here. I do believe it is the religion that most of the attacks are aimed at. I will leave the discussion to those who really know more about it than I do. I was just trying to explain the meaning of an earlier comment to momof 3.

I hear what you are saying but ALL religions are being affected by this. You will find it easier to open a new Wal-Mart then attempting to open a Mosque in a lot of places. Religion is a touchy subject because people's faith runs so deep. As a Christian with friends and family of different religious backrounds I don't feel any more picked on then they do. Just an opinion of one.

  8. I would like to see the code, personally.

I find it hard to believe any government body would single out 'church services' directly like that.

No way I could see that sort of code holding water in any real court.

Wonder how that town's officials react to birthday parties, weddings, wakes, superbowl parties, baby showers, etc...

(All of which come with the same set of 'issues' that the town seems to have here)

I agree with this as well.

  9. OK. Can they really go about it any other way?

....but that is the rub. Those that cry "they are attacking religion" really want to say they are attacking Christians. As long as the laws are equal for everyone that is no the case. The ones that cry the loudest are the same that have no issue with other faiths not being given the same rights as there own. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. There is a topic here on Pcom about Christisn Scientist (I think that was the group) not being allowed to use a building due to traffic etc, but there was little outrage and many defended the action because of zoning etc. These peoples homes are not zoned as commerical but because they are a "christian" based faith we are worried that it is a sign of the future of religion being banned.

  10. To some paranoia is another word for survival. Personally I think that the attack on religion has grown and now the attackers want to take the word, god, out of everything associated with the government whether it is words on money, engraved on buildings, a cross put up years ago as a memorial to those who died in this country's service, prayers, or bibles brought to school by children to read in their free time. The list goes on and on. How did it start in countries where Christianity was banned and churches and bibles burned? I have not been one of the folks who have been very concerned about it. Maybe I should rethink that.

This ban is for ALL relgions, not just Christians.

  11. The beginning of what?

People being parnoid. The issue is that currently ANYONE can start a "church" in their home to avoid taxes, have the right to do drugs in the name of their religion etc. I don't believe that Az. is the first state to make such laws. In these economic times people will do anything to save money, including start religions.

No one is banning legit religions from meeting etc.

  12. Sorry, but I have to disagree with ya on this one, Weatherboy.

    1. I don't think anything about the Edwards/Keslowski feud is staged by NASCAR or anyone else. Just bad blood from so many run-ins. There have always been these rivalries in NASCAR: Earnhardt/Waltrip, Allison/Waltrip, Wallace/Earnhardt, Kyle Busch/Earnhardt, Jr, etc, etc, etc.

    2. It is not NASCAR pushing the popularity of Danica Patrick. She draws the popularity on her own.

    3. Danica Patrick is not the first female to drive in the Cup Series. DH and I have always said IF the Robinson girl that tried it a few years ago had good equipment under her and a decent sponsor/funding she could have done well. There was a LOT of attention put on her and she was always interviewed after a race, regardless of how she finished. There was a lot of interest around her.

    4. Danica Patrick is a GOOD driver and although she has not won a race she has proven she can handle an Indy car and is doing well in the Nationwide Series.

    5. Danica Patrick is one HOT and BEAUTIFUL LADY with star qualities!!!! I don't see NASCAR using her to get women to watch races - maybe just the opposite. ;)

    6. Danica Patrick is a gold mine for a sponsor!!!

    1. I agree.

    2. Nascar and ESPN hype her almost as much as Jr. No other rookie gets this kind of hype.

    3. She was awful. Watched her run at several levels and she didn't have the car control.

    4. Agree she is a good driver, but has a LONG way to go before she is a good stock car driver.

    5. AMEN to that the women is smoking hot

    6. Depends on what the sponser is. Go Daddy is perfect for her.

  13. Reread what I said. I may not have used the term jail, but usually attempted murder puts one in jail...

    Let me help you....

    BOTH

As for the rest, yes, let's park edwards lets turn Nascar into the pussified sport it has become. Wrecking ain't new at any of the tracks.

  14. Love it. And I'm a Kesolowski fan being that he is from Michigan and all (actually the town I went to High School in) but the guy deserved it. I don't think Edwards meant to flip him, he isn't that dumb but the guy deserved a good wrecking.

Had that not have happened on the track it would have been attempted murder...

Uh, no because had it not happened on the track and two drivers were going 175+ they both would have had thier asses in jail, if not the graveyard.

I never understood this point of view. Like, after a hockey fight, If it wasn't on the ice it would have been assault. Well guess what, it was on the ice so it's not, it's part of the game.
