  1. There was a great article about it in last month's Scientific American. Or maybe it was the month before, I'm a slow reader... It's sooo exciting!!! We are nearing the capability to accelerate things to light speed, and that just boggles my mind.

  2. Well, if you want another bathing suit, I'm sure eightlegs and I could whip one up for you! ;)

Yours are sooooo much better. I love the little monkey key chains and finger puppets you made for Gorga Monkey's.. :D

Check out her website at: www.knottybirds.com you can see them. :p

    Her stuff is truly amazing.....

    Thanks knottybird,

    Denise

Thanks, Denise! We're working very hard on some very special things and will be very excited to show them to you!

  3. I think that would be great, but another option would be if you assembled them in advance - they could pick the one they like and stick in their own photos? That way, you can do the work ahead of time and they would know exactly what they're getting... just brainstorming. ^_^

But that sounds like a great service if you are really good at it. I would think that for a 20-page layout, you should charge anywhere from $50-$100, depending upon what embellishments you will be using, and the level of detail.

I'm assuming you mean scrapbook, as in photo album? Most scrapbooks I see don't actually have anything in them but photos... ;)

  4. So Paulding Meadows is really great? I keep hearing about it.

I loooove the Dogwood Festival too. The Dahlonega one I'd forgotten about - we might have to look into setting up a booth for that.

  5. Ah, turning my thread into an advertisement for yourself, eh? ;)

We will be having a booth at the following shows.

    April 19 & 20 - The Big Shanty - Kennesaw

    April 26 & 27 - Jonquil Festival - Smyra

    May 3 & 4 - May-retta Days - Marietta Square

    July 4 - July 4th Celebration - Marietta Square

You can find out more info about these shows on our website.

Would love to see many of you at these shows.

    Nemie

  6. Oh, I'm sure he'll read this! Just fooling around with you, I didn't even know he was coming until a couple of days ago. That's VERY exciting. I remember seeing Pope JPII at the Silverdome in Michigan and how we were on a hill screaming like he was New Kids On The Block or something, ha ha. He flew off in a helicopter. I still feel so blessed to have seen him in person. That was amazing.

  7. sounds like a plan M ... if you know where it is maybe i can follow you down there ...

I sure do! I might be going tomorrow - gotta drop off some things (and then of course I'll brag like heck about it on p.com!)...

  8. We missed you! But I heard what a GREAT job you did in court Tuesday on your CASA case!....and M's girl also!

We had a great crowd, appx 75 people, Pubby took lots of pics and will do a video clip soon. I will post some pics also soon.

 Well, I finally made it to the table - my cases have tended to get worked out before court... and I had nothing to say!

We thought the program tonight was really great. As native Yankees, we really thought Judge Teske's speech was the REAL Southern experience. A revival preacher style in the town square. Very cool. Oscar, we missed you for sure!

A public apology for my little crazy boy who obviously did not notice there was someone trying to sing... He sure had fun though, and I figured we were there for kids after all... Poor Pubby trying to listen with me leaning around him to yell at my kid!

  9. I'm of two minds about it. On the one hand, I feel for people who are desperately trying to offer services. On the other hand, I don't respect the fact that they know they are creating litter, and I hate that people find it okay to pin things to my mailbox and introduce holes into the wood so that bugs can go in, the weather can work on rotting the wood, and it looks tacky. And for Pete's sake, don't touch my car to put something under my wiper!!!

I, like everyone else in the world, am starting a business and to be honest, there are many more creative ways to market than creating litter and invading personal space. If you can't find them, maybe you shouldn't be in business for yourself.

  10. The day will not surprise me when a kid gets hit by a car in front of our house. We have middle school aged kids who have a makeshift go-cart (I guess) ... basically a huge piece of plywood fastened to two skateboards. They start in the street outside our house and make their way around a blind corner and down the hill.

...and then I come zooming around the corner...

Hey FYI everyone, Toys R Us sells great "Slow, Kids Playing" bright yellow signs for $10. I have a 3-yr-old and watch from the front porch as he plays with his older friend in the street, but I just got the sign yesterday because I think it could possibly help. Just wanted to share.

  11. Love that place! Great staff, fried pickles rule. We've only been there for football games (be prepared, btw, for Georgia football to be what you hear, even if you're there for Big T11en, hee hee), but we've always had fun.

  12. We were there yesterday, too! You all were great, and that's the thing that makes us visit again and again. I liked that everything was in one big room, so when I got tired (quickly!), I could sit in the corner and crochet. It's obvious you are keeping the parents' comfort in mind there, and we really appreciated that!

eta: It's in the industrial park next to the Florence Road SCT trailhead. :)

  13. If a women wants to take the responsibility of being a single mom then so be it every women should get the chance to be a mom.

ETA: I would love to see them adopt a child who needs love vs. other methods.

Yes! Sorry, I take back what I said, sort of. I meant for a sperm donor, not for adoption!

I see your point but also think there are plenty of children on this planet that are in foster homes and having just one parent would mean the world to them!
