Growing up, I DID live on a dirt road and we did ride our bikes on the road, we played in our backyard, in our front yard, etc, we had trails in the woods, we had a blast! Why is it that parents these days think their kids HAVE to have a park and rec area to play? Let them play in yr own yard so that we arent forced to have our hard earned money taken from us and spent on more and more parks......

It's not the taxpayers place to provide a place for you to play soccer, softball etc. As a child, we didnt have all these parks and rec areas to go play, we went to our own backyards and played...now there's a nifty idea. Again, if you people will get their kids off of their lazy butts and send them outside to play instead of LETTING THEM sit in front of the tv and play video games then maybe half the worlds population would be so overweight. If you cant afford for your child to play sports, then find something else for them to do, but its not my place to help pay for it for them.

No, its NOT the gov't place to pay for those things. If a family cant afford for to pay for their kids to play sports, why should I pay for it? My money needs to go for helping my family, not yours or anyone else who cant afford it...go ahead, call me selfish, but thats how I feel. Its not the governments place to take my money to pay for a place for your kids to play football, softball, cheer, whatever. (and yes I have 2 kids who play sports). If the SPLOST helps pay for the rec fields etc, why is it that when we sign our kids up to play a sport, we still get charged $150-$300 and they still want us to do fund raisers to pay for the park?? go figure!

I just found out that there are no signs we can get. There would have to be a group of citizens band together a committee to vote no and have the signs printed themselves. hmmm.....so i guess there is our answer.

Fine, so cut the pay of the gov't workers in the county to help support all the extra stuff they think we need. How about fund raisers? I agree, I thought the same thing. Hard to tell, you dont see her face much and the video quality is bad. Let it go people, shes not YOUR teenager, we just need to raise our kids the way we think best and let her parents raise her. I have a 5 yr old who has loved "Hannah Montana", for about 2 years but its just a phase, she is already growing out of it. Im not worried at all that she has made any impact on the way she dresses or anything because we are raising her to know whats good and bad and right and wrong.
