Will we have our primary in May instead of July in 2014?
NewsJunky replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't know about the effect. It all started because of the Federal elections and the court ruling that they must be changed to allow more time for military absentee votes. It will be interesting to see what the effect will be if it is changed to May. -

Pubby, almost none of what you have surmised is correct. The Tea Party candidate is not Phil Gingrey. Not sure it will be Broun either. The Ron Paul folks are more likely to support Broun. Just my opinion but I believe the establishment candidate is more likely to be Kingston. I do think the primary could end up being in May. -
Looks like folks will have to come back to pcom for news

I agree. Don't think anyone said the child did not need help. Some of us are just shocked that someone so young could start making such poor choices so early in life. From the OP's other posts it did not look like she changed her ways. Just because folks don't think that behavior should be encouraged does not mean they would not help.

As I understood it they are using it for children who have to leave the regular system. It is in the video. Isn't that what the Alternative School does?
-
That is what I understood. Maybe I misunderstood........

Found out that they have put the alternative school where Abney used to be. Thinking that was a good move.

Did you say 7th grade? Really young to have made the choices she has made. Looks like she has learned nothing. The choices we make in life determine success or failure. Very sad that those choices now involve a little one who will look to Mom for all the things it needs. The path is now much harder for them both.

So sorry that he has to fight this battle. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family.

Great message! Hope the kids listened.

The kind and generous thing to do is to ignore the one who annoys. I sometimes wonder if there are folks who come here for company. I just don't get driving a person away from a site instead of putting them on ignore.... -

Some folks just like to set stuff in motion and others get caught in the fall out. gonefromhere should not be gone. Others started that ball rolling. -

Hiram is a wonderful place to visit. Is the antique store the one just across the railroad tracks? The Olive tree is on the other corner correct?
-
I like Hiram a lot.
-
Thank you that makes sense.

Even your own government has said to be on the lookout for anything you feel is suspicious. Wish the folks watching that race in Boston had been worried about backpacks and Muslims. Maybe some of them would be alive and children who were there to enjoy the day would not be missing limbs.

The accused is entitled to a jury of his/her peers. If the defendant speaks only English and the juror speaks only Spanish and the trial is conducted in English how is the juror qualified? Whose rights are at stake? Who is the trial held for the juror or the defendant?

Holder seeks to avert mandatory minimum sentences

Each state has to pass it's own laws on this for state offenders if I understand the issue correctly. Federal laws are a separate animal. -

Think the sentence time was recently voted on and changed in the GA legislature. Good move? http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookman-blog/2012/04/04/what-the-georgia-legislature-got-right-in-2012/ -

Holder's move should bother everyone because it is another example of the Obama Administration picking and choosing the laws they will and will not enforce. Not good for America and the rule of law that keeps it civil.
