I lived off Hurt Road from '71 to '81. I went to Hollydale Elem. Mrs. Roland was my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Brindle was my 2nd grade teacher, Coach Wooten was always in charge of PE. We would always stop at Griffin's for a quick convenience store run. There was a full service gas station at the intersection of Hurt and Powder Springs where my mom would fill up every Sat. morning and buy me an ice cream cone.
At the risk of sounding like a "valley girl".......Oh my gosh, I had Ms. Roadler for my first grade teacher; she is now a principle, then I had Mrs. Brindle she used to play the guitar and read us Uncle Remus stories... oh and Coach Wooten was the BEST!!
2790 Valleybrook Drive IS IN THE HOUSE!!! My parents built their home on the corner it was a brick ranch. We lived their from the mid 1960's(okay they did I got there in '71) until 1988 when we moved closer to McEachern so that I would not have to worry about not graduating the following year with my class. They kept threatening to move the line.
We were the Johnson family!(I say were because I am married)

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY
Sweetheart Mommy and Daddy love you so much. We are so very proud of you. You have overcome ever obstacle that has ever been in your way. There is so much more to come for you. Continue to be yourself and all will be just fine.
Mommy loves you baby! I enjoyed all the years that we spent together. I'm always here for you, but I know its time for you to soar on your own. Remember I am here for you always.
Love,
Mom and Dad

My son will be attending PCHS.
My son is a Junior this year. Freshman year there was a list on the website, sophomore year no list on site, Junior year still no list. So I can do no more.
-
You look absolutely beautiful. Don't know if it matters to you or not but you look alot younger with your hair shorter. Your hair looks so sleek and shiny; just beautiful.
-
Okay went to PCHS website all summer except for the past two weeks during my finals I never saw a reading list. Last year there was not one either.

My husband thinks that the dog is trying to show you he is the "pack" leader and get your attention as well. Fix that and your golden.

That is awesome! I wonder if that is what the folks were doing on Dallas Hwy last week after the Hardy dealership when they were passing out drinks?
-
Madea please pass the tissues! That was such a touching story. I think it is so assume that she took the time to care to pack those things up for you. LGM she must have thought the world of you. Thanks for sharing.

Slug! That would be me. DH and I played WOW all day; well from after breakfast at 10:00am till 6:00 pm. We did cook on the grill and I did get all the laundry done!

Congrats to all of you!

Walking Tall, I love reading your posts! Sometimes I agree, sometimes I disagree, sometimes you make me think, sometimes you make me aggravated!
Even though I may not agree with you always I like the way that you write and you inspire me to write better. I do not have time to right the insightful posts on here that you do, but I write alot of papers in college and like I said you inspire me to become a better writer.
Keep up the posting.

Sounds like someone with a big 16 year old son needs to motivate them to have a discussion with said offenders...
...and did they really change the name of paces lakes? I used to play there all the time! the sign with the sailboat was kinda misleading though, noone ever sailed in paces lakes...
Yes, the entrance sign now says "The Overlook at Paces Lakes" . Kind of stupid this subdivision has been being built since I was in highschool,my parents almost moved us out here, and I will be 37 on the 26th of this month.
-
Thanks for the reminder....I am in Overlook. Need to go lock the doors!
"Overlook" are you speaking of Paces Lakes???? I have lived here for 9 years with the name Paces Lakes and I swear I cannot remember the new name and I am not driving to the end of the sub! Thank you.

Honey he trembles just because I am breathing air!
Satan knows he'd be a crazy fool to even try to mess with me!

He had severe injuries. The brian is an amazing thing, and especially in a young person. Last I saw Jeremy, he had obvious effects from his injuries. Hopefully in time they can all be overcome.
And how could he ever be the same again emotionally? His mother was a widow, and all he had in his immediate family were her and his sisters. They are all gone now, and he was left for dead as well.
But I, too, wish him peace and full recovery.
Your right the brain is amazing, but I believe that the human spirit is also pretty amazing. I hope that as he is getting physical recovery those around him are helping him to recover emotionally. I will just keep praying for peace and hope! I believe amazing things can still happen in the life of this kid and that he can be an amazing person. Thanks for the information. He has his mother in him and it sounds like she was a strong woman; he is her legacy.

Flat bread with tarragon and basil leaves, kalamata olives , feta cheese, cucumber and tomato.
Did you make this yourself homemade? If so could you pm me the recipe? Thank you!!
-
They both survived. The cousin went back to Kenya, and Jeremy lives with a local family who were friends of Jane's.
Jeremy will never be the same again, but he is recovering.
Never the same meaning physically or emotionally? I believe there is hope after something like this. That is what I have prayed for when I knew he was in the hospital.

Late lunch today and lite too! Green snow peas, baby limas, mixed with baby carrots.

I still remember what happened to your neighbors and wish that the story would be on one of those unsolved tv shows so it might get info out to find the killer(s) of these precious folks.
Now as for buying a house that people were murdered in.....no thanks. I never heard if the little boys died or were alright are you allowed to say?
-
very sad what happened to the teens; shouldn't have happened
...slowly backing out of this topic.....

I know where it is but I ain't tellin
I just have to wonder... This started out going one way and now I'm fast tracked into a dog crate that would barely fit a Beagle. What gives?!?
That is what happens when you "aggravate" your woman on purpose! All of us woman stick together! It like a written rule; didn't you know.
I bet you slept well Snow White since you didn't have Mr. Dis hogging the bed! Mr. Dis hope you don't have a backache after sleeping in the crate; wait would serve you right! Just kidding. Have a great day! Snow White enjoy your day tomorrow!(you too Mr. Dis cause all we do we woman do it for you; well at least most things).

You asked your wife to go shopping? You then asked her to only spend $40.00?
In answer to your question, yes you are completely insane.

I attended Mt. Zion with the Crumps. Do you remember taking the VBS bus through the neighborhood and the bus driver honking the horn and we tossed out candy to the kids and letting them know about bible school. I so loved VBS.
Oh and I rode all over that neighborhood on my bike even by myself. Wasn't allowed till about 12 to go all over but rode my bike during elementary years from Valleybrook to Sasanque(sp). My best friend, last name Bailey, lived on that street. My other bestest friend lived on Devore, last name Fednander.
Good ole' memories for us in Hollydale. We spent every weekend in the yard working. The yard seemed so big as a kid. We lived on the corner. The backyard still is big but the front yard is no where near the size I thought it was. When I drove by the other day my memory when I saw the yard on the left of the driveway was high school Junior year wearing out the grass practice for drill team try outs to the tune of Mike and the Mechanics song "All I Need is a Miracle."
Hey too cool. My mom and dad are Henry and Cyndi
