I seriously don't know of anyone who would willingly go to a bank and deposit $100 into their savings account, knowing that when they return to get it out, they'd only get $30.00 back. Or should I say, a dollar a year for the next 30 years.
Maybe Social Security sounded like a dandy idea 50 years ago, but its time has come and gone. Even if it was a dandy idea 50 years ago, it was not managed properly and the politicians have embezzled the funds for decades for their pet projects and to purchase votes.
Social Security is a JOKE and a cancer on this nation. As some have already mentioned.....
It's Time For The FAIR TAX!
So true.

Both of these I use when I have run out of time, or did not plan out a meal and am feeling lazy.
Instant Chicken Parmesan
28oz jar of spaghetti sauce
4 to 6 frozen breaded chicken patties, (or 5-7 breaded chicken breast tenderloins.)
4 to 6 slices provolone cheese (I make this when I run out of time…so I have used Colby, Cheddar, and Mozzarella what ever is in the fridge)
1 to 2 Tbl grated Parmesan cheese
Spray 13’ X 9’ baking pan with Pam. (Recipe says to put sauce in an ungreased baking pan, I use a glass one, and I always spray it?)
Spread sauce in pan
Arrange frozen chicken patties on top
Place a slice of provolone on top of each patty
Sprinkle each with Parmesan cheese
Bake covered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
Uncover and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly
Serves 4 to 6…easy to double, use bigger pan
While it cooks I make up a pot of Spaghetti or Angel Hair pasta noodles.
I serve them over pasta noodles, with some garlic bread, green beans, side salad, or what ever else your family likes.
BBQ Chicken Tender Salad
My husband and sons love this. It’s sort of a guy’s salad!
1 package of mixed salad greens
8 frozen breaded chicken breast tenderloins
Spicy BBQ sauce like Gates-original classic (at Wal-Mart), or other spicy wing sauce hot or mild your preference.
Ranch dressing
Cook breaded tenderloins according to package directions.
Chop them up to bite size pieces, place in bowl.
Toss sauce on them while hot – enough to coat breading.
Put salad on individual plates.
Put hot tenders on salad-serve immediately.
Let each person put on their own dressing.
Never bought frozen breaded chicken patties have a brand recommendation that is really good? Must you thaw them out before cook???
Thanks

Personal Responsibility.
I would love nothing more than to see the social security admin abolished and people become responsible for saving their own money. What the SSA takes every month will NEVER be enough to live on. If you can't handle your own finances enough to put away money for retirement, then you should work til you die.
It's simple.
I totally agree with you on Retirement, but what about the disabled folks that the SSA services? Those disabled from birth who did not have insurance cannot get insurance or if they had it at birth had an insurance cap and then they can NEVER be covered? Until the laws change where insurance companies cannot "discriminate" who they will cover and not the SSA/Medicaid and Medicare provide insurance for the disabled.
-
Show me in the Constitution where it's the responsibility of the federal government to support the "welfare mentality" of anyone in this country.
I totally agree that no one should have the attitude that the government should provide for them but what if the government has allowed for insurance companies to decide that there are certain folks, the disabled, to not be alloted coverage?
So could you tell me, in your opinion, is it "welfare mentality" when someone is physically disabled yet mentally normal needs to work at home due to business only providing the minimal of handicap accessibility in their businesses so this person takes Social Security Income to have the benefit of INSURANCE because insurance companies won't provided insurance coverage to a person with cerebral palsy??? So is applying for benefits to have insurance because Insurance companies can exclude folks who have never been alloted to PAY for coverage??

I would rather have a "simple tree farmer" than someone that uses the office for personal gain.
I agree we desparately need industry (light) in the County to help reduce homeowner property taxes but we need to do it smartly not give away the store. You need to go back and read what Austin wrote in item 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, and 13 (Wellstar is a for-profit business and will never be any different). I actually voted for the airport along with the reservoir - votes were not binding. Now it looks like the airport might not materialize to what we were told. Two items the taxpayers did not approve that will cost the taxpayers money you can not deny...............the airport and the courthouse!
Good points! My answer to what I put in red in your post.....Now Chairman Shearin can truly say that he was not allowed to finish what he started and we got what we deserved for not re-electing him. I heard him say something to the effect that he needed to be re-elected to finish/complete what he started the way he said it to me was as if no one else was capable or even in the same position as he to accomplish what needed to be done(guess this is pretty typical of the career politician).

I think this is at least in part due to the efforts of Dallas Mayor Boyd Austin who was quite critical of this project all through the summer and even after the election.
He was activity lobbying against this.
Chairman Jerry Shearin, when asked why Austin opposed the effort, said he didn't understand why but that his opposition had soured the folks at Wellstar on the project.
Shearin told me that his effort to bring that facility to Paulding was based on the idea that they would be expanding in that general area and it would be better for Paulding if the facility where inside the county rather than in Cobb or Bartow.
The one thing I'll acknowledge is that Austin's opposition to the project fits with the old-narrative that the folks in and around Dallas are jealous of any commercial/industrial activity outside the city
Here is the copy of the email distributed by the Dallas Mayor on July 24th.
Your statement(I put in red) and the copy of the email below your post answered my question and confirmed exactly what I was thinking which was that this project was being "pushed" and supported by our current Commissioner and now that he is going, going, almost gone, there will not be someone here to "push" the upcoming project and they knew they would face this opposition in Paulding. Just my thoughts not saying I know this to be the case. Hopefully anything "pushed" by this current Commissioner that is not good for Paulding will fall off the agenda!

He had an okay time at the test. He did well on the first part of the tests but started to get flustered and became uncoopertive during the retention part. So he will be doing that part next week. How many 6 year olds want to be tested on their birthday especially over their summer break.
I have never been a good test taker. I have testing anxiety and sometimes get physically sick or forget everything. Works out real well with college. I am glad that they are being patient with the little guy! I HATE to see school in anyway break the spirit/attitude of a child! Elementary sets the tone for kids and their foundation that is why I want to teach fourth and fifth. Lord bless the little one having to test on his bday and during the summer. Glad to hear the school is working with him and his needs for today.
Good job little Dis and Happy, Happy Birthday. Many more happy ones to come for you. Your best and the best is yet to come little precious one.

I thought the Commissioner spoke as if this was pretty much a done deal. Maybe I just misunderstood.

Oh man.....make sure you wash your hands VERY frequently!!!!!!! Don't want to spread it to someone else in the house then catch it again!
Yep and change you pillowcase nightly so you don't keep giving it to yourself! Sorry you got this!

First God put you over those kids and he expects you to PROTECT them first and foremost over any thing you "feel". If it makes you feel better let your husband be the head of the household as God says he is and let him make the decision that "daddy" needs to leave NOW! Your oldest is seeing that you will tolerate inappropriate behavior; what are you going to do if she starts acting in ways that you allowed "daddy" to behave???
Good luck to you. Peace be with you as well. I will keep you in my prayers.
The fact that you recognize that his behavior is having an effect on your daughter tells me that your answer is there. Anytime someone's behavior negatively affects a child, they need to be asked to leave. Your daughter cannot leave no matter how much she wanted to. Your dad is an adult and can support himself. As long as someone will take care of him though, he doesn't have to do anything. You can't control what his friends do to help him out, but you can control what happens in your home.Great points.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Counting down the days with this family too! I am thankful for his service. I blow my horn everytime I pass their home to let them know of my support and my thankfulness for their sacrifice. I have two sons and I cannot imagine what they have gone through with their son in the service nor what this young man has experience; I am grateful.

It is hard to multi task you make mistakes
yes it came up again yesterday, I handled it with grace.
Maybe it is just me but I think it is ridiculous that it was even mentioned, again. Just me.
-
I know I was doing two things at a time.
Girl don't you know that multi tasking is dangerous? JK!
I thought this was settled already? You still thinking about it? Only frozen cake I have had that was DELICIOUS is our cousin's coconut cake. Even a year later it is awesome!

I am sorry that you and your daddy is having to face this. I understand your pain seeing him struggle with a weak body yet having a strong mind. My son has cerebral palsy and we deal with this every day for the past 18 years. He is totally normal mentally but can only walk with crutches very slowly and cannot get up and down or in and out like you and I do it must be done for him even dressing besides his shirt and brushing of his teeth and washing off somethings in the shower. It is so hard to seem him struggle and know that he knows what he "should" be able to do and struggle within himself to be okay with what he cannot do. It sure humbles a person.
You all will be in my prayers.
Peace be with you!

Dear Hairrazor's Daughter,
we lost our hamster of three years about three months ago. This was my 17 year old son's hamster. I went in and I was the one who found the hamster. I cried and cried and cried. We all cried. I so know how you feel. I am so sorry that your hamster/bff has gone. Cry all your tears for him. Then remember all the happy times you had with him/her. Our hamsters name was Pumpkin and he was sooo pretty he was white with light brown areas. I so sorry.

We have looked at it several times now. The latest was at the Sarasota Springs. It always comes out the same. Good deal until you add in the maint. fee. By the time I do that I could have really found a good deal and just gone without it. $80+ per point and the number of points needed keeps going up just makes it difficult to justify.
Hey Dis, I thought you were big on the points thingy?????
Just kidding.
You guys enjoy your trip! Great family memories. My parents didn't take me until I was 15(I think). I believe we went in June of '87 or '88 and it was stinking HOT!!!!!!! Anyway as old as I was we still have great family memories of Disney. Except the fact the my mother had a kidney stone on the move! Bless her heart.

Thanks for the reminders! I am glad everything turned out okay. Glad your house is okay, that you have great neighbors, and a new job. We are blessed we have great neighbors too and one is a full fledged fireman.
What Did The American People Do Before Social Security?

I agree that a different system should be set up;however, people born disabled don't chose where to get insurance from the government policies and insurances companies force them to draw from the Social Security Administration to afford over price medical procedures and medical equipment to live their lives. Folks with insurance purchase these same services for pennies on the dollar while insurance pays the rest and the individual pays the premium at work or themselves. Folks I know that are born disabled don't have that same LUXURY they are forced to go without medical care because you can't afford to pay for it like a typical doctor visit of $125-$300 as an out of pocket or a deductible the expenses are 75 times more and more expensive to boot. Lobbyists for the insurance companies lobby for politicians to keep existing rules/laws so that insurance companies do not have to allow ever one to purchase insurance so the disabled apply for SSI to receive medical benefits such as insurance.
