  1. Ok, here's how I see it.

From the churches I've been in and the things I remember, this is what I got out of it. God (good) and Satan (evil) are always battling it out. Kind of a Yin-Yang thing. So, you have to have faith in one (ideally God) and go along with what he says to be on the good side. I'm not trying to be silly, but I think it is about human consciousness. Our ability to see right from wrong and to choose. I think if you cut most religions down to the bone you will find that. Then top it off with the eternal question of who we are and why we are here - questions animals and plants don't ponder - and you have religion. Then add to it the enormous complexity of how the universe came to be. Consciousness, why we have it and are here, and how the universe was created - big questions and not easily explained.

Virtually all people on the planet throughout time believed in something supernatural. Gods of the Sun, Moon, Mountains, Rivers, etc. Universally, everyone felt something higher than them. Today, we have science that is very advanced, but still can't explain many of the things in nature.

So, to me, I tend to err on the side of this: I gotta feeling that there is something bigger and unknown out there that is at work.

    I liked your post :)

editted the post:decided not to speak about religion and faith when I am not one on one in person with someone.

Much love  I will pray for the original poster because as others stated He does speak all the time and will speak also when you ask Him.

  2. I remember my neighbors couldn't wait till their boys left the nest. They would sit and dream about the day they had the house to theirselves. Well that was about 5 or 6 years ago, since that time one of the boys left for about a year and then came back, the other never did move out (that I could tell) and now even more kids are living there. Don't worry about. My mom used to joke that she had boomerang kids. It's nice to have a good home to come back to.

Sounds like you had a great mom. I tell my teen they can stay at home as long as they would like. It is alittle different for us because I have one that may not ever leave the nest because of physical disabilites but he is mentally fine. We have just made him our son and our friend(course we don't tell him that yet) We really enjoy being with him!!! But we do wish he could have a life of his own like all others. Time and God will tell.

  3. I think that we need good services out here in Paulding County. I would hate if I need your type of services and I had to drive into Atlanta, Cobb wouldn't be to bad but why can't good educated people bring there services here.

No if I where you I would wonder how you could get on the recommendation list of the local DFACS for those who are mandated to have counseling and such that you provide. Also what about kids that have gotten into trouble and the court orders family counseling. Do they give out a list of therapists??????

Try to find out by asking around how people can know you are here rather than just the phone book.

Good luck I wish you well.

  4. I knew a Stephanie West when I went to school at McEachern(grad. 1989)

I am so sorry that this family is going through this right now. I pray they are strenghtened every day. I cannot imagine what you all are facing and you all will be in my prayers. Tough on the little infants momma and tough on the momma's momma.

    God bless you all.

(Obit. spelled Asheville wrong my grandparents lived there)

  5. Okay although I really don't care to see it, my daughter doesn't believe me. So she wants to see the little video of the guys kissing in Pirates of the Carr.

Also is that really in the 2nd part or is that something that someone made with software?

My daughter is now in love with Orlando Bloom so that is why she is interested in seeing it. She's 13, what do you expect.

So if you don't mind will you post it so that I can show her?

I saw the film and I don't recall see that I do believe I would must have been a software thing

  6. Hey Christy was your daughter late for school????? Just wondering in case I have this issue ever.

If you picked her up and took her right to school would she have been late still?????

I ws told that if we are late that it is a tardy but not if the bus is late?

New parent just want to know what not to do.

GLAD you are okay, hope your car is feeling better soon :)

  7. Since I have lived here only 8 years, I came from Cobb, I have noticed that some of the officers seem to do things that seem "risky" or as if they don't have to follow any common sense when they do things it seems a little crazy sometimes what they have done sorda as if they don't have to follow any rules like look before they pull out when they get an emergency call and they flip on the light. Drives me nuts cause I want to do the right thing and not endanger the officer but he/she should be careful too as so not to endanger me.

When I first moved out here the officers all looked real young that acted a little nuts behind the wheel I have noticed it changing. I have never been pulled over by any except back in 1989 but that was in Cobb. Also never had a ticket :D I am proud of that

I did have an accident on 278 in the turning lane two years after we moved here right at Chattahochee Tech. Lady got in the turning lane after us having no rain in a long while it began to drizzle and she was flying and just didn't stop. The officers were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice and good to me. I was hurt but no one else. My husband was taking care of my kids who were about 8-9 at the time(the were so scared) and the officer came to ask me if I was okay, I was hurting so bad in my back and neck, he was going to leave to call the ambulance but I was crying, he held my hand and had his partner or 2nd officer call it in! He told me over an over that I would be okay and he told me everything that was being done with my kiddos while I was waiting injured. I was so frightened. THANKS OFFICER WHO EVER YOU WERE!!!! Also the ambulance drivers were so good to me too, Found out on the way to Kennestone that the guy with me in the back knew my brother in law, he was soooooo good to me too. THANK YOU!!!

I respect and honor all the officers. I had a boyfriend years ago that became an officer, we were not dating at the time he joined but I so feared for him. His first day on the job he walked up with a partner to the car and was shot in the face. I know this man very well and he IS a GOOD man. We are so lucky that good men join the force to protect us(and of course woman) I appreciate them all.

THANK YOU TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND AMBULANCE Drivers/EMT

    From one thankful citizen

  8. Ellen...remember these?

    ;)

The paperclip idea is a novelty but I thought I remember reading that pants had to be "hemmed".

Oh, for the good ole days when the "unacceptable" was "acceptable". Seems like should be more important things to worry about.

Directly from the handbook " Length must be appropraite(5" from the top of kneecap as measured by a ruler or the width of a 3 X 5 index card);size appropriate waist, set and inseam; MUST BE HEMMED OR CUFFED; cannot be altered from their original form."

Assuming the must be hemmed or cuffed is to get rid of the stringing pant bottoms(forgot what they are called) my son took pants that were too short made his shorts(this summer) and shredded the bottoms.

I don't know  if she has a class in there, but I do know she is excited that she has a lot of friends in her 'lunch' period!

EPHS has lunch periods??????? New hs mom just curious what is on the other side of the fence and if the grass is better.

Principal scared my son to death and he waited till this morning to tell me that "mom, I am glad I started hs this year because those that aren't here this year and paid for stuff like lockers and such, will not get anything next year even lunch because the county does not have the money." To me tell the parents this not the kiddos. They shouldn't have to worry about issues like not having lockers or lunch or whatever. Do you guys give your kids details when your household is short or tight? We might say "not right now we have to wait or we need to watch our budget right now" but to scare them. yikes sorry guess this is a new topic in itself.

  10. AHHHH Grounded that is so precious! I remember when I used to see my husband like that with our two teenage sons. As a mom they hold my hand alot but as a dad that comes to a close real soon for you, they will always let you show affection in other ways but the days of letting daddy hold their hand comes to a close soon after they start Kindergarten.

Thanks for reminding me of my memories by sharing yours.

  11. In additiion to the Distirct Attorney's race, there are run-offs for Secretary of State (Repub and Dems), Agriculture Commissioner (R only), Lt. Governor's race (Dem only) and 4th Congressional Seat (Cynthia McKommie).

:D I am assuming that the Roundtree Law firm are Republican supporters since they wrote that Cynthia McKommie(maybe a strange typo) is running for the 4th Congressional seat??? Just incase anyone wanted to know it is Cynthia McKinney.

Republican(typo had to edit) here :D but she has been in the news seems like FOREVER hope she is ousted tonight.

  12. hmmmmm, my son stated that he didn't get told anything today that we didn't already know yet I found out more on line by others that I didn't know about highschool at PCHS.

I guess I can't support and help my son anymore because half the time he either isn't paying attention, just happens to not hear, not understand or something happens. I know the school still expects us to stay on top of him but you can't if you don't know what's up, why don't they tell us these things???? There was not a freshman orientation so us parents know what is going on. They did this when I was in highschool.

  13. My daughter who is only 19 has decided to get married on Sept. 2, 2006. What little hair I have left is now turning gray. I would like for her to wait till she finishes college. One more interesting thing they will be living with us. Have you heard the song by Heartland called I Loved Her First. I nearly start to cry every time I heir this song on the radio.

I married my highschool sweetheart at 18 two months after graduation he was 19. It was not always easy and we certainly did not live with our parents after the wedding. We got married in Oct. found out that I was pregnant in January(due in Sept/Oct) child was born early in Aug.(preemie) then 9 weeks post partum found out I was pregnant with our second child!!!!

Today we have been married for 17 years this Oct. Love each other to pieces, no everything isn't perfect but love makes the difference I believe. Most people that knew us then but only see us occasionally are shocked we are still together. First we were married really young and then we had a preemie with disabilities and a second child right away all things in society have said we should be divorced but we are not by choice!!!

We didn't have alot of us time prior to children but we will be 38 and 39 when both are graduated from HS so we will have our fun then.

Also we have a foundation of our marriage in our own personal relationships with the Lord I think that also makes a difference with our attitude about marriage.

We have done premarital counseling with couples as we are licensed and ordained ministers plus people say we know what we are talking about. Glad we could help

  14. hypotenuse

    :D

From what I hear, if you're a p.commer, you automatically disqualify yourself from the jury

    [/quote

From just this particular jury or jury duty in general????

I had it three years ago been in the county for 8 years moving from my birth place of Cobb County. I would LOVE to have jury duty again!! Obviously I am a homemaker and a student I know it is difficult for those that work outside the home.

Last one I had was a dui that the cops couldn't prove he was drunk except his behaviour so we had to state not guilty even though he had passed convictions, we all felt in our hearts he was guilty but there was no hard evidence just what they saw and no breath test :o Then after the case we all asked the D.A. nmore questions and we all were sick to find out the two days after his incident in his own yard with the Sheriff Dept. in Paulding he was arrested in Kennesaw and charged with DUI. In paulding he was not caught behind the wheel actually driving. He was kindof pulled into his driveway with the radio running keys in the ignition but the car was turned off. The officer didn't check and report the engine as being hot, no one saw him driving, neighbors just reported him listening to the music to loud and the Sheriffs knew when they arrived that he was totally drunk. Hopefully he was totally prosecuted in Kennesaw.

I am 35 and only had jury duty twice. After two weeks of jury selection for the same jury in Cobb County I was released from my obligations because the crime involved a gun and we owned a pawnshop, neither the defense nor the prosecutors wanted me when they found out that information. I was so drilled in that case but in the several that I was "drilled" for in Paulding you would not have even considered it drilling" Cobb made me feel as if I was on trial
