I take the back roads from Ridge into Powder Springs all the time. I avoid 278 as much as possible. I come in from the back if I have to go to a location there. The only reason I came that way this morning was because I went by and paid the water bill first.

No. Just be careful. I know there are idiot drivers everywhere, everyday, but this morning, they seemed to be coming out of the wood works.

Yep. I used to live on 61, and know just what you mean. I can't tell you how many times I was almost hit going into my driveway. I would watch the people coming at me from behind like crazy. If it looked like they weren't paying attention to me being stopped, and I was afraid me and my kids were going to be plowed down, I would just put the gas on, and go up the road, turn around and come in from the other direction. The worst one this morning was a Yancey/Cat truck. That driver was changing lanes like crazy, gunning his gas, and cutting people off, and then had the nerve to give som

They have now moved the vehicles out of the roadway. It is now opened back up.

I was coming down 278 this morning through Hiram (not my normal way) and it was crazy. I have never seen so many people cutting each other off, and dashing across the lanes when it was clearly unsafe. I was thinking this is a day that is going to be full of accidents. I came in to work and turned on my scanner. There have been two wrecks come over the scanner since I got here 30 minutes ago. A purple Saturn vs. a tan Saturn by Hiram High School at Virgie Balentine. Now another JUST occured at Nebo and Gray (I think). One lane of Nebo is now being shut down. Please j

2 story framed structure with light smoke showing. Caller came home and found smoke in the house when they opened the door. I think they said Inverness Way. Not showing any flames yet. Light to moderate smoke on the first floor living area. They are investigating where the smoke is coming from.

I am sitting right here on Florence at the Cobb line, and there are a bunch of sirens.

That's what I am thinking. Why would Hiram be responding to this. I heard over the scanner too, but it confused me.

They don't take her to jail, they just talk with her, and make sure she is safe, and tell her to move along.

Me too. I live really close to that intersection. I go through it several times a week, and have no problem. That intersection is one of the least of my worries. Now I agree with the one at Nebo and 61. I used to live right there, and would not be able to get home many times because of accidents there.

I asked my son if he knew of anything that happened at the school today, or heard of anyone getting arrested. He said they had a bunch of names of students that they called to search for dip/cigarettes. He had a couple of friends that were searched. I wonder if they found something more than that on someone they searched. That is total speculation, of course.

The accident at the Kroger at Ridge Tuesday night amputated someone's foot and he was lifeflighted out. I don't know what the end result was with that.

They did not say it happened AT the bank, they said his location was BEHIND the bank.

A 63 yom behind the Flagstar Bank at 278 and Poplar Springs Rd, has amputated his finger completely. They have it wrapped in some ice, and are waiting for Clark's. I hope they are able to save this man's finger and re-attach it.

I believe they have all been seperate incidents. I haven't heard anything indicating anything else.
