She wasn't a victim, she was just kind of an oddball and didn't have a lot of self esteem. She didn't let anyone stop her from pursuing her dream. I admire her spirit. Her voice aint too shabby either!

Wow, we actually have something in common! We both like Usher and we're both music lovers! Who knew? Here's a good one with his protégée on the voice. She started out being a girl with very low self esteem and very unsure of herself. Usher had her take a good look at herself in a full length mirror in one of the coaching sessions. He was able to let her realize how very beautiful she is on the inside. The clip was very touching. No I can not imagine driving through there, my mama is far braver than I.

My mama is 73 years old and she grew up in Lakewood. Lakewood used to be a very safe place back in her day but now, well, we all know how bad it is. She has no problem driving through to see the home she grew up in, I really worry about her when she does that. She is not scared at all and dares someone to mess with her. She hasn't done it lately, thank God but I never know when she'll get another wild hair and take off. The desire to visit her childhood home overrides her fear of getting hurt in that area. She says it's her old stomping grounds and she will go where she pleases. She did agree
