  1. The same thing happened to my mom many years ago at Kennestone. They gave her insulin and she wasn't a diabetic. It almost killed her. Her care has improved ten fold since my first post and I haven't seen the nurse who was so terrible again. That may not mean anything, but I know that my daughter hasn't had her, so that's all that's in my wheel house for the moment. I'm usually pleased with Wellstar and after this is all said and done, I hope I'll continue to feel that way.
  2. Actually it's 'egg bwead'. My grandson hated my french toast but was willing to eat it again just not to hurt my feelings. I wish they were. Her kidney function isn't getting any better which is worrying me more and more. I told her that she could have both of mine, that I'd be fine, she didn't believe me. It's so difficult seeing her so sick. She did eat a little while I was there today and didn't throw it up which is a start.
  3. Maybe is it. We had plenty until last weekend when we went shooting, we need to restock. Give a 12 year old boy free reign to shoot as much as he wants and you tend to come home with a lot less than you went with.
  4. This has totally made me smile!! My step dad is in pain, but will recover even if slowly. My daughter on the other hand isn't doing great. The bacteria causing this kidney infection is very resiliant. They have finally figured out the correct combination of antibiotics to get it under control, but we were told yesterday that it would get worse before it gets better. Joy! The dr said that he now understands her pain levels being at a 7 or 8 because this is nasty stuff, so they've increased her pain meds and are alternating more than one to keep her at least somewhat comfortable. She also can't
  5. I'm not sure about now, but up until recently at Academy, there was a 1 box limit unless you bought a gun that used 22LR.
  6. I can't tell how many fathers I've known personally that have up and left their families, kids included, to go start a new family never looking back at what they left behind. So all this whining about poor, poor dads is sickening. Maybe if many of these men acted like men instead of whiney, spoiled babies and didn't only want to see their kids when it was convenient or just to get back at their ex, they wouldn't be having this problem. I'd do my best to keep my kids from this kind of man too.
  7. Of all the LE officers there are all over the country, how many of them do good every single day and never get an iota of praise for it? Yea, there are bad cops, I got that and I agree, but even 1000 videos of the big bad establishment will never outweigh all the good most do and all the situations they positively contribute to. These nuts on here that believe otherwise can't or won't be reasoned with. Either they are ignorant or they're trolls laughing as they rile up this BS. How about this, stop responding and trying to convince them and just let it go. Most level headed, intellige
  8. Of course they're not held accountable, all police are bad and no good. Remember? I just hope that the people on here who OBVIOULY have such an issue with the police aren't so hypocritical as to actually call the police when they need them. That's a nauseating thought.
  9. There aren't enough 'likes' to give you for this post. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Exactly. I found the same kind of thing, $12.99 for 50 rounds.
  11. Wow, that seems a little dishonest to me. I'm glad to have this info, thanks!
  12. I've always been pleased with Wellstar services. Most local hospitals and dr.'s are affilated with Wellstar so I'm not sure there's a huge selection to choose from if you don't go to one of their facilities. For me, death is never a better alternative to Wellstar, but that's just me. No offense, but I'm callin' BS on that one. Death, really?
  13. I'm not afraid to act bad for sure and yesterday I wasn't the nicest I've ever been. But today was better and we're about to go back and make sure she's settled for the night and the boyfriend has what he needs for night duty. I know a 27 year old sick girl doesn't need someone with her all the time, but I cna't stand the thought of her getting sick and being all alone. Heck, she threw up all over the bed today and I was holding her sick pan. Luckily, we have help and when someone is in the hospital, we know our roles. But the big picture........step dad is going to be fine, just a long re
  14. Care today has been night and day compared to yesterday. They have been on time with meds, checking on her at least every 45 minutes or so and very concerned. And as to being objective with a loved ones care, that is true to an extent. However, when a person is projectile vomiting and there's nothing to catch it, you ask for help, you look for help and you scream for help and none comes, that's not good care whether it's my loved one or someone else's. But for the time being, things are going better. Her pain seems to be better controlled today, her kidney function is worse than yester
  15. The care my daughter is receiving at the new PC hospital is horrible and I don't know what to do. I asked to see the charge nurse yesterday and was told she wasn't available. She went without an antibiotic drip for at least 3 hours yesterday and her machine was beeping and beeping and beeping. We asked over and over for them to change her med bag and kept being told that 'she was just going to have to wait'. She needs these drugs, shes sick. I wrote in my thread about my step dad about other things as well, but I've been around sick people and hospitals A LOT since I was 15 and I've n
  16. It didn't improve with shift change at 7:00. When we were there at 5:15 yesterday afternoon, her antibiotics were out and the machine was beeping. We left at 6:30, the machine was still beeping, no nurse had been in and we asked over an over to get her more meds and when we left, she was still beeping with no meds and her boyfriend was looking for the nurse again. My oldest daughter was there from 7:00 until 8:15, machine was still beeping, still no antibiotics. That means from at least 5:00pm to 8:15pm, she had no antibiotics going into her system for a very severe infection. My sick daug
  17. Good for you, but it's a shame that you have to act bad to get help. After I updated this afternoon, we went back to the hospital and I ended up asking why she couldn't get a drip for nausea, such as Regelin(sp), to stay in her system and not Zofran every 8 hours. 'Well, I'd have to ask the dr'. 'OK, CALL AND ASK HIM'. 'Weeeeeell, I guess I could'. 'THEN DO IT. NOW'. I, as a lay person, should never know more about meds than a registered nurse. At least not in my opinion. This nurse has been so indifferent all day long, it's hard to believe. Her boyfriend is with her tonite and he can b
  18. Yes, it was her. It started Monday with kidney stones blocking the tube from her kidneys which led to her not being able to pee, which forced urine back into her kidneys, which is not good. We went to the hospital, they put a cath in, 4 stones passed and they sent her home with the cath. But the damage had already been done and this started last night. The link below is what she has and it's awful. She had a puking bought because the pain was so severe and there was nothing for her to puke in, but a ice pitcher. Needless to say, I wasn't the happiest of campers and when I couldn't get any help
