I think No Doubt either has a new album out or one is coming soon. I saw it on ENews.

You're kidding? That's crazy!! There's a marathon on right now, so if anybody missed anything, now would be the time to catch up.

Did anyone go to the family dance at Abney tonight?

I know that one teacher and another parent besides myself approached two different people about this and nothing was done. I really never thought they'd disregard concerns. Being that I have a 5th grader, skipping it next year will be no problem. And I didn't throw anyone under the bus. They threw themselves under it when they turned out the lights. -
Restored Payroll Tax Pinches Those Who Earn the Least

I agree that these programs aren't 'entitlement' programs, but what about people who have never worked and still draw SS and receive Medicare? My MIL is one example. She worked about 5 years during her entire adult life and gets both. Once again, you're making too much sense! How often is that done by any President? -

You make waaaay too much sense to be on this board, go away! :p  -
I think her avatar was an Aerosmith guy and not RD. OH, and I L-O-V-E Jello too.

Agreed 100%. I've had expensive meals that I wouldn't go back to even if they gave me the food next time. And I've had inexpensive food that I'd pay 4 times the price for, Chicken and the Egg for example.

I'm not sure how a school board member carrying a gun will help individual schools if that is the direction they want to go in. A resource office in each school would seem like the way to go if they want protection for each school. If there is an incident at a local school, are you supposed to call the school beard and have the armed member rush to the school and then call 911? I don't understand the point.

First off, you know NOTHING ABOUT MY INVOLVEMENT AT MY CHILDS SCHOOL. Or I COULD just stop with the words, 'YOU KNOW NOTHING'. I've been room Mom to three kids, sometimes 2 classes at once, for the last 25 years. I proctor testing, do you? I make copies, plan parties when no one else will, volunteer for the dunking booth at Spring Fling, do you? Address 500 candy grams for Valentines day, do you? You are foolish to take on my volunteering record at Abney or anywhere else. And even if I never turned my hand at any school anywhere, a school dance in the DARK is a STUPID idea. -

Yes, an elementary school. If it had been a 5th grade only dance, maybe I could have dealt with it a little better, but probably not. BUT, with it being a 'family' dance with little brothers and sisters that you couldn't even see before you stepped on them, not so much. Maybe I'm just a fuddy duddy that doesn't appreciate the new way of doing things. Can it ever be a good idea to have a school dance in the dark? Not in my world. -
You're exactly right, but GAD! It seems so wrong somehow, but in truth, what IS the difference? It's meat of an animal.

Where did you get that picture of me??

I'm trying to be nice because I love Abney, it's faculty and staff and especially the PTA, but I think they really missed the mark tonight. It was called a 'family' dance and maybe it's just me, but a gym with no lights on except a couple of strobe lights and one to the side of the stage, doesn't fit the idea of a 'family' dance. It was so dark you could barely see a foot in front of you. You couldn't see little brothers and sisters who had come with their families. My 3 year old grandson got knocked down twice by people bowling over him. My 9 year old granddaughter got knocked down by someone -
Hate the Burger King guy too. Who thought that was a good idea? 'YEA. Mr. Advertiser, we love the idea of a big scary guy in a costume stalking people'? Really!?

I wish I had. Forgotten that is. -
Do you know bad it would hurt my feelings and probably yours too, if someone ridiculed your offer of help? It's hurtful and nasty and I just don't get why you'd do it. It's mean.

I think they're cute, but I don't want one. Well, maybe they're a little creepy!

Just curious.

I won't leave my child with anyone, you're right. However, I have offered help to complete strangers on here more than once and my motives are always pure. I totally get that you don't leave your kids with strangers, but to take a jab like that at someone offering to help is just plain rude and uncalled for.

I love it when people flip you off and THEY are the ones that ran the stop sign or red light and almost hit you. OOPS, I didn't read the posts before I posted almost the same thing. Don't flip me off!!

Yes, I have those moments everyday.

It's creepy when you're at the mall and the kiosk vendors reach out to touch you to squirt lotion on you or to straighten your hair. DO NOT TOUCH ME. E-V-E-R. We were at Lenox shopping a few years ago and since I have long hair, I roll it when we go out and I like big, long hair, so does Hubby. We past a guy with a hot straightening iron in his hand and he had the nerve to reach out and take a handful of my hair and tell me how great it would look if it was smooth and straight. I jerked away really quickly and I swear, I thought Hubby was going to slug him. He touched my hair!!!! Who doe

We call those white vans 'kidnap vans' at our house and to this day, neither of my grown daughters will park on the passenger side of them with the sliding door next to their drivers door. And in all honesty, I won't either.
