  1. I can eat some pork, so I'm excited about the smoked pork chops and the chicken too.
  2. No apology necessary! I wish that more parents were as passionate as you are about their childs education. I do think that we're on the same page, we just had a little glitch in communication!
  3. I'm sold. He wants to go on Friday when he's off.
  4. I was leaning toward the $359.00 and with the $50.00 rebate, I'm really pleased with the price and the better products included. I've haven't been this excited about giving him a gift in a long time. After 31 years together really great gifts can be hard to think of. I really appreciate you help and input!!
  5. I just checked out Bass and they have 2 RCBS kits, one is $319.00 and one is $359.00, and there's a $50.00 rebate on both. I am really happy with those prices because I had absolutely no clue and thought the cost would have been at least twice that. I don't know the difference between the kits, I didn't get quite that far, but I'm almost sure that this is what I'll get him for Christmas, along with a book or two to read on the subject. I know that there are a lot of extras you have to get to do this, but the initial cost is much lower than I thought and I know he'll love it.
  6. Is it really good, Hubby wants to check it out? We have a price list and I think he wants at least of one of everything on it. I have an issue with meat these days because of an ulcer and I think he feels bad, but he shouldn't not eat it because I can't.
  7. Cobb isn't out according to their calendar. Not Bartow or Fulton either.
  8. This is why I stand by my theory that if a dog likes you, you're probably OK. If they growl and snarl, not so much. This is a great story.
  9. But they are open to the public and if you can get in a couple to shoot a few times, they're much more likely to join if they like the lanes, so in the end you're not losing anything. And the lady is usually more willing to try it out if it's free. We've had a membership at Creekside in Taylorsville and we only joined after we'd been a few times and liked the facilities.
  10. I never said anywhere that a student should be penalized for having extra resources and that they shouldn't be able to use them. Never. Not anywhere. There are crappy parents out there that won't help their kids at all and a 7th grader is at the mercy of their parents most of the time, good parents or bad. They can't drive themselves to the library or gain access to things they don't have just on a whim. Extras are great and we go that extra mile, but to require work from a book that is only available on the internet isn't acceptable to me.
  11. Part of me agrees, but I don't think a child that doesn't have access should be penalized. And you know good and well that there are parents who don't give a rats a$$ and won't drive their kids to the library or to grandmas, etc., because they don't care. School of all places should be a level playing field for ALL kids, not just the ones with a computer or a smart phone, which was asked for this week too.
  12. I'll do that, I've tried on both of our computers and get nothing. I'll get the info and PM you. Thanks!
  13. Any consignment sale I've ever done still picks and chooses. Anything stained, ripped, too outdated, etc., aren't accepted. At a store, they hang and tag them. When you do a church or private sale, you have to hang and tag the clothes in a very specific way or they won't be accepted. But, with a private sale, you get all your profits at once instead of little by little as they are sold. And with a private sale, you have MANY, MANY buyers at once and the odds of selling what you bring are much higher as opposed to people trickling into a consignment store.
  14. Does every child in the Paulding county school system have access to the internet at home? I wonder if that's the case when I receive an email to a link on Saturday afternoon for a textbook that middleschooler is told to use for information on a project that is due on Monday. And past that, when he clicked the link, signed in with the login information, clicked on the book he was supposed to use, nothing happened. We've tried several times and it doesn't work. Frustration abounds.
  15. When I read the article this morning, red flags and warning bells were going off in my head, something just isn't right about this. It's too horrible to think about.
  16. That's true. The large kids consignment sales usually sell for fall/winter in the summer just before school starts. Then spring/summer in late winter. I did All For Kids for years and years, they are the best around. If you want to go to a consignment shop, Hand Me Ups in Powder Springs is great. Good Luck.
  17. That's something, but when you have to purchase ammo and targets, ultimately you're not saving any money. Any ladies day promo I've ever participated in is 'ladies shoot free'. HHHMMMMMMM.
  18. Ever since she was little, she's gotten strep throat 2 or 3 times a year and her dr never wanted to take them out for whatever reason. I think he thought she'd grow out of it, but of course she didn't. Now as an adult with kids, it's much worse on her when she gets sick because she has responsibilities. She's been sick with throat issues for almost 2 months ans they started to think it was mono, but her tonsils were so bad, she just couldn't get well. Hopefully, she won't have any kind of fever on Monday because the dr said that if she did, they'd have to wait until she was well to do it.
  19. I can't wait to share this information with him! He is meticulous when doing just about anything and follows directions to a tee. Are there 'beginner' kits for this or is everything separate? I'm thinking Christmas present. Thank you for this!
  20. Thank you for the info because I have no idea how to feed and adult on a soft diet. I'll have her check out the protein shakes this weekend.
