Following is a release from the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force referencing their activities in May.

Search Warrants Executed In May Result in
Twelve Arrested On Drug Charges
Last month the Haralson Paulding Drug Task Force executed two search warrants after drug buys were
made from two locations. The cases, which are unrelated, resulted in twelve people being arrested on
drug charges.

On May 1, the task force executed a search warrant at 24 Jimmy Drive in Temple, Haralson County. As a
result of the search warrant, hundreds of prescription drugs including Carisoprodol (Soma), Hydrocodone,
Viagra, Methadone, and Xanax were seized. Also seized during the search was $10,584 in cash. Three
arrests were also made at the Temple residence. Arrested were Jimmy Summerville, 64, charged with
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II, III, and IV Controlled Substance; Possession of Schedule
II, III, and IV Controlled Substance; and Six Counts of Prescription Pills Outside of Original Container;
Vicki Summerville, 59, charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II, III, and IV
Controlled Substance; Possession of Schedule II, III, and IV Controlled Substance; and Six Counts of
Prescription Pills Outside of Original Container; and Shai Summerville, 18, charged with Possession of
Schedule II and IV Controlled Substance.

The second search warrant executed by the task force last month along with Deputies of the Paulding
County Sheriff’s Office was on May 28 at 2397 Hiram Acworth Highway, Dallas, Paulding County. This
location was searched after the task force received multiple complaints and two confirmed overdoses
occurred at the residence. During the search warrant, heroin was seized and nine arrests were made.
David Edwards Pejack, 59, James Carter Gurley, 56, Charlie Louis Kennedy, 49, Wendy Deanne
Kennedy, 45, Sandi Irwin Lindsay, 38, Laura Nicole Adams, 27, Barbara Dee Schell, 40, Danielle Nichele
Bentley, 26, and Ryan Scott Aplin, 30 were arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin with the
Intent to Distribute.

It's beyond me that there is such a market for heroin. Getting addicted to pain killers after an injury/surgery is one thing, but to shoot up herion is another thing all together. It's crazy.

I don't like feeling out of control, so drugs and alcohol have no importance to me. I don't get it and by not getting it, I have no patience or sympathy for those addicted to things like herion, meth, crack, etc. I know some people think I'm too rigid in my belief, but oh well. It's weird because I'm one of the most compassionate people around, I'll help anyone, do anything, but if you're addicted to drugs, you're offf my radar and outside my circle. It's a flaw I'm sure, but after 50 years it's probably not going to change.

Heroin is cheaper. Period.

 

Pain clinics and pills cost a lot more $money$, even if you do sell half your pills.

One major difference between you and an addict/alcoholic is that when they are doing drugs and drinking, they do not feel out of control, they feel more in control.

I don't think anyone goes out thinking I am going to go & become an addict ....there has to be a starting point and I am not sure what each person's trigger is...a party...an injury ...a tragedy ...what causes some to be good and some evil... some people are followers and think they do what everyone else does...I don't understand it but I am glad it is not something I have not had to deal with on a close personal level....

I believe anything that causes yourself or those around you harm can be your drug of choice.

We think of drugs as the most comman addiction. In my mind gambling, cars, trucks, boats, sex, sports and 10,000 other things can control you.

Thank goodness I realize where my short comings and weakness' start and I run away from those temptations.

For me buying more than a lottery ticket or 2 a month would be a sin or addiction for me. More than 1 or 2 a month would take away from me being able to care for my grandson or wife in a way they deserve to be cared for.

With the crackdown on pill mills and pain prescriptions, what other choice does someone who is addicted have but to go with illegal drugs. Just because you can't get a legal prescription does not make you less of an addict. The addiction does not go away because your source is cut off.
