lotstodo Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 Toyota Halts Sales of 8 Models in Recall Toyota said on Tuesday that it would suspend sales of eight models involved in a recall announced last week for potentially faulty accelerator pedals. Toyota also said it would halt production of the models at plants in the United States and Canada in the first week of February. The sales suspension and recall includes Toyota’s top-selling vehicle in North America, the Camry, for model years since 2007. Also included are 2009-2010 model year RAV4, Corolla and Matrix; 2008-2010 model year Sequoia; 2007-2010 model year Tundra; 2005-2010 model year Avalon; and the 2010 model year Highlander. I have worked on fly by wire aircraft and if something similar happened to a particular fleet of aircraft, you could bet your boots the manufacturer would have a fix in a very short time. I have worked on fly by wire aircraft and if something similar happened to a particular fleet of aircraft, you could bet your boots the manufacturer would have a fix in a very short time. Kill the ignition switch and hit the E-brake, or throw it in neutral and hit the brakes. Killing the ignition means you lose power steering so if you are in a curve you are toast. Hitting neutral means you blow the motor, hopefully after you get it stopped and lose steering. Either way, the car is toast. Pull your floor mats out and throw them away, that way when it happens to your car thay can't blame it on the mats. I mean all the mats by the way, afterall the back seat floor mat may slide foreward and jam your petal to the floor. Link to post Share on other sites

BUT, that is what I told hubby I would do if mine was to get stuck, if the motor blows up or anything else messes up, then toyota has to fix it. Link to post Share on other sites

It killed the family of 3 and his brother. They were on the Interstate and could not stop. The driver and Father of the family was a cop. Sad story indead. Link to post Share on other sites
