Clark Funeral Home Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 Thomas Calvin Sanders, age 65, of Dallas, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008. He was born July 7, 1943, in Atlanta, and was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Ora Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a 1961 graduate of Dallas High School. In 1965, he graduated from the University of Georgia and in 1968 graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Mr. Sanders practiced law in Dallas, GA for 40 years. He was a Gideon, and a member of the Civitan Club and the Sportsman Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, serving as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Clark Sanders; daughters & sons-in-law, Suzanne & Jonathan Adams of Jacksonville, AL, and Carey Jane & Jack Ison of Marietta, GA; sister, Ernestine Wilbanks of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Caleb Thomas Adams and May Elizabeth Ison; nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 2:00pm, from First Baptist Church of Dallas, with Dr. Gregg Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens. Roger Dodd, Gene Graham, Harold Stokes, Joe Parker, Bill Foster, and Boyd Austin will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dallas Building Fund, 401 Main Street, Dallas, GA 30132, or Gideon’s International, P. O. Box 503, Dallas, GA 30132. Tom was a GREAT Gentleman...He was family (mother-in-laws brother)...he was a lawyer that would often take cases knowing he would never get a dime for his services...he would have given you the shirt off his back...he was a true family man very proud of his family...what is said above sums him up...he fought a hard and long battle with his disease...May Tom Sanders Rest in Peace!
