Clark Funeral Home Posted September 4, 2008 Report Share Posted September 4, 2008 Doris G. Rakestraw, age 63, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2008. She was born March 21, 1945, in Atlanta, and was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Fannie Treadaway, three brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. Rakestraw loved her children more than anything in the world. She was a member of Narroway Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Tyre L. Rakestraw, Jr.; daughters & son-in-law, Rhonda Gray Gurley & husband, Toppy of Villa Rica; Tyra Paige Rakestraw of Dallas, and Tara Pace Rakestraw of Dallas; step-daughter, Amy R. Rakestraw of Dallas; brother & sister-in-law, Robert Eugene Treadaway & wife, Polly of Roswell; father-in-law, Tyre L. Rakestraw, Sr. of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 2:00pm, from Narroway Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Wesley Rakestraw Memorial Fund, c/o Georgian Bank, 3270 Florence Road, Powder Springs, GA. 30127.
