FreeBird
I heard this on my way home at 11:36. SO unit was dispatched in the area of the Paulding/Douglas line to investigate the report of a small yellow plane that passed over the caller at tree-top and "on its side." It then appeared to go down. Second unit picked up the call and was advised by the first officer that there was a landing field in the area.....

Chelle
I know of someone at the Paulding/Douglas line that flies a small, yellow plane and has a landing strip in his backyard. Hopefully he was just coming in for a normal landing and it scared the caller because they weren't aware of the landing strip being so close.
Blondiega1
I live off Ridge and hear low planes frequently that are setting down at that airfield. Didn't hear anything today though. Hope all's well.

FreeBird
I never heard anything - if it was in fact a crash I know there would have been much more traffic.
newhopegal
so you say you heard this ON your way home.. do you carry the scanner all the time..
FreeBird
I have a portable scanner - I take it with me if I am driving in the county. This morning I had to go down to parks and rec and had it with me. When I was going to Dekalb Cty every day I carried to help me get around accidents. A lot of times I would hear a call out for an accident 5 minutes before the traffic reports. As the units arrived at the accident they would call out "MVA blocking right two lanes...." I'd know to get to the left....
newhopegal
i was thinking that maybe you just are just a lil addicted to your scanner.. LOL
