  1. Thanks so much for steering me in the right direction!
  2. Thank you so much for responding!! You are right...it does not have a cd drive built in. We were going to connect it to another laptop via a usb cord to transfer the disk onto the mini. The windows disk is a reinstallation CD for microsoft windows xp w/SP1 and has the Dell name on it. My friend was trying to get into the BIOS but the pathways were corrupted so we didn't continue any further. Is there some trick to maybe get around the BIOS? Again....thanks so much for your advice!!!
  3. My son has a mini Dell laptop with the Ubuntu operating system. He ran out of space on it and decided he was going to start deleting things "that he doesn't use or recognize" to free up some space. Low and behold.......now it won't work. I have had a friend look at it and he was unable to figure it out. Said that all of the pathways have been deleted???? He wasn't even able to get to the control panel. And now we can't even get into the add/delete programs file. Anyways. I wanted to download the windows xp operating system on it as we don't like the ubuntu program. Plus my son snapped
  4. Had both of these thoughts first thing this morning. I'm on day 7 of 8 straight 12 hr shifts at work. Saturday can't get here any sooner.
  5. Yes, I believe in Karma too. However, while I wait for him to get whats coming to him.....he continues to make my children's lives miserable. He has already alienated one child. The second is on the verge of alienation. Before he alienates the third....I want him to finally start getting back what he dishes out.
  6. I will make two then. Definately need to make one for both creeps!!!
  7. OH OH!!! If you do this.....count me in. I want to make one of the ex also.
  8. My dad's wife is 6 months older than me. I just don't have it in me to refer to her as my step-mom. My kids don't even call her grandma. Not that we don't like her. She has always been wonderful to my kids when they were growing up. She makes my father very happy and really....that's all that matters.
  9. Oh my......good one. I never even considered that. This show has so many twists and turns.....backwards and forwards that it wouldn't surprise me if you were absolutely right. Definately gotta rewatch last night show. Might take two or three times but maybe things will become more clearer.
  10. You're not alone. I am so confused.....again!! I will have to rewatch that tomorrow and see if it makes any more sense than tonite. My main question is...how in the heck can they be in two places at the same time? Are they back home? Are they on the island? Are we in real time/future/past? OMG head rush. Someone please pass the aspirin.
  11. Thank you everyone for your referrals. I have called and set up an appointment for tomorrow afternoon with Dr. Penney. Can't wait!!!
  12. Thanks, but I was hoping to stay somewhere here in Dallas...somewhere on my way to and from work. I suppose I should have mentioned that to begin with. I appreciate your responding though! Dr. Penney's office is literally within walking distance of my house AND is on my list of "in network" providers. I think I will give them a call! Thank you very much.
  13. I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a Chiropractor. I had to change insurance and my old chiropractor is not considered "in network". Which makes me wonder because he seems to be the only one in the Paulding area that isn't. TIA.
  14. Hey there. I'm doing good. How have you been? I sure do miss you guys! Send my love to everyone.....especially Nancy. You will have to let me know when you all get together socially....would love to come hang out with all of you. We may have only been coworkers but you all were like family.
  15. What type of training will be given? Will it be simple command type training like sit, stand, heel? Will it cover behavioral issues like running off, snapping at you when reprimanded, chewing, etc? I would be very interested in these classes if it covers the latter of the two. Also, is the price per dog? And if so....is there a discount if you have two dogs? Both of which are have completely different demeanors. TIA for the information.
  16. Thank you for the information. Sounds like 61 is definately not the route I will want to take. Taking 92 to 41 is my only other option at this point. Believe me...I wont be taking any unnecessary chances. If I can't make it there safely, I won't attempt it. Work is money.....but not worth losing my life.
  17. I'm supposed to work tomorrow morning in Cartersville. I know the roads will most likely be the same or worse as they were this morning.....and in some areas still are. If I can atleast get to Cartersville today, I have a friend I can stay with that lives closer to my work. Does anyone know if 61N or 92N are passable yet? I really need to get to work tomorrow if at all possible. I'm a private duty nurse Saturday thru Wednesday. My patient's nurse for yesterday and today called out so he hasn't had nursing care since I left Wednesday evening. I would really like to be there for him tomorrow but

  19. LOL. I thought my son was the only one. Guess we are not alone. My son wears SHORTS year round. Refuses/hates to wear jeans. Of course, they are the long shorts that come down to his knees.....but still. He works at a local fast food restaurant that requires him to wear khaki slacks. It is actually weird seeing him in them.
  20. LOL. I talked to her yesterday. She was telling me that she made my Quesadillas for dinner. She said that she had put my SIL's together for him first, by the time she was done putting the toppings on hers, he was back in the kitchen for seconds. Since they won't be able to make it home for Christmas this year, she is excited that now she will be able to make Christmas dinner and all the goodies that she is so used to having for the holidays. Of all the presents I have gotten for her over the years, this one has brought me the most joy in giving.
  21. Thats wonderful news. Glad he is on the road to recovery. Hope that means you got a decent night's sleep also.
  22. My son also had trouble swallowing pills for many years. We figured out a little trick to make it possible for him to swallow pills....especially the huge horsepills. He takes a swig of soda (doesn't swallow it yet). Tips his head back like he is going to gargle the soda....opens his mouth.....drops the pill into his mouth....then swallows. He says the carbonation of the soda "tickles" the back of his throat to the point where he doesn't even feel the pill going down. He has been doing that since he was 12 and hasn't had a problem since. I know soda isn't the best thing to take with medi
  23. You're a brave man!!! I wouldn't dare tell mine that I sleep with them in. LOL. I change mine out at the beginning of every month. Can't afford changing them every 2 weeks. I don't tell the doc that either. My vision doesn't get better with each exam.....quite the opposite. But I just attribute that to old age. I leave mine in the majority of the time too. Maybe 2-3 times a month I will soak them overnight. What solution did you switch to?
  24. Sorry, just saw that this posted while I was typing my last response. Try the crackers or dry toast before taking the meds. Even one cracker or a few bites of toast would help. Also try taking sips of the medication....just enough to wet the whistle...until the full dose is taken.
