She's in the hospital until Tuesday at the earliest. They took her off one antibiotic (they were treating her for the wrong infection) and are trying another. If she gets worse, they will operate to get into the lung and see what is there, but that is the absolute LAST option. They haven't done any surgery on her (and couldn't operate to remove the tumors) because it is WAY to risky.......and if they have to do it, it won't be good and I will have to fly home immediately................ Thanks for thinking about her. Keep those prayers coming.............

Both. The cancer came back in April.....she's been on a different chemo therapy since then (which doesn't take as bad a toll on her). At this point the chemo is just to slow down the cancer. I don't think it will destroy it.........although miracles CAN happen if we all ask God for help...........

Thanks, LR. She is still miserable. They decided not to take the fluid out of her lung nor do the bronchioscopy because it is too dangerous. They are trying to treat the infection with antibiotics, and she is getting a blood transfusion now. Back in Dec when we went through this she had 7 transfusions in a week......... Such an emotional roller coaster for me........I cant begin to imagine what she is going through.

Mickey D's does it........and even ran commercials about it several months ago. It tastes better when they put the cream in. I don't like those little "non-dairy" creamers. If you are going to the drive through for your coffee, how would they expect you to add the cream/sugar while you are driving???

Damn! mY daughter JUST walked in with my McD's coffee. She told them 2 times to put in 5 creams..........it freaking BLACK!

Well, they finally moved her to the ocology floor. Going down for tests now.........they have to pull fluid from her lung to see what kind of infection she has. Can't break her fever........ She actually slept last night for the first time in days, so that was a plus. Thank God for small favors........... Keep those prayers coming.

DD has done that to me on at least 5 different occasions. There is nothing worse than taking a big sip of coffee and spitting it out because it is loaded with sugar. McD's has given me black coffee several times........where the heck was the cream I asked for? Now I check when they hand it to me, and sometimes they almost get insulted............

the problem is that Shannon won't stand up for herself! My Dad is talking to the Dr tomorrow. I can't.......it won't be pretty and will just make Shannon mad at me! This is the hospital he is associated with and the one he told her to go to........

So sad. Prayers sent for the family. Rest in peace, Dustin.

Still not on the oncology floor.....still in pain. When the nurse gave her motrin for her headache, Shannon asked her if it was ok (chemo damaged her kidneys and she is under strict orders from the Oncologist to ONLY take Tylenol). The nurses answer: Ummmm, I think it will be ok! Unbelievable! I SO wish I were there! More tests tomorrow....painful ones! Long Island

I just spoke to my mom and Shannon is STILL miserable. My Aunt (she's a Dr) is going to call the hospital and the Oncologist and see what else can be done. Apparently, Shannon is still in severe pain and they haven't given her anything except liquid motrin last night. HerOxygen wasn't working last night, and it took the nurse over 30 minutes to answer Shannon's call for help They haven't even moved her to a cancer floor yet. She is on a surgical floor, and they don't even know how to use her port. The nurse actually asked Shannon how to use it! Unbelievable! On top of all of that

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Please keep those prayers coming. No change as of 8 pm. I will know more tomorrow (hopefully). I just want her to not be in pain anymore........

She is still in the hospital. I only got partial info (from my brother) and now their cell phones are dead so I cant reach anyone, but it seems the brain scan came back clean. They took her off heprin (for a blood clot) because they think she is bleeding into one of her lungs. They may do a lung tap (youch!) and are trying to get the mouthsores cleared up (magic mouthwash doesn't work for her). She is on morphine and antibiotics..... Please keep the prayers coming! Thanks again everyone. I just talked to my brother. He is with her. They are admitting her. Waiting on CT scan of her head. Please pray for a clean one................... Cance sucks, doesn't it? I will keep your sister in my prayers as well. What is her name??

Please say a prayer for my sister. She is in the ER now. I don't know what's going on, hopefully only a bad reaction to chemo earlier this week. She called me and told me she was in terrible pain and thought she was dying.............It sucks being 950 miles away! Thanks so much......again!

Does anyone have the Pool Elem school supply lists for 1st and 4th grade? I forgot to pick it up yesterday, and the school is closed today. I am leaving at 5 pm to go on a cruise with my sister............and if I let the husband take care of it.........well, you know how that will go (it is bad enough he has to fix the kids hair the first week........yikes!). Anyway, if anyone knows, can you please post here? It is not on the website! Thanks so much!
