Remember we drove down to ground zero about a month later..........it was eerily quiet.....right in the heart of NYC. There were probably a thousand people down there, all silently crying, and not a sound. It was truly heartbreaking. The black bunting at the police and fire stations........I have never experienced anything like it. I pray I never do, again!

Thank you Tammie- I still think of Colleen everyday. 8 years, and I still miss her terribly. Tomorrow, please say a prayer for her children, Amanda and Michael. I was on the phone most of that day trying to call Colleen's cell. I never reached her. She never got off the 99th floor I was watching Matt and Katie, getting ready to head into the city to see my mom. She had heart surgery the day before. Thank you all for speaking up on behalf of the rink. At Sparkles we have worked very hard to get over the "old skating rink" notion of the 70's. We've spent millions of dollars renovating, spent tons of money hiring people who are well known and respected in the industry, and put together some very affordable party packages all so we can have a fun and safe place for families, teens and the little ones. Personally, I think we are doing a FANTASTIC job! I hate to toot my own horn, but Sparkles is always involved in the community and the first one to donate to help a good cause. Acut

On occassion there are kids outside, but that is the exception, not the rule. We are not a babysitting service, nor do we pretend to be. I can honestly say that in my 5 years there, I have never had a child ask me for money or cigarettes. Nor has there been an issue with damage to cars or break ins. If there is something illegal going on, the PO will handle it.

Thank you, my friend! Well said! If your child can't behave, then keep them at HOME! My child had better be EXACTLY where she tells me she will be......because if I find out she is hanging out in the parking lot, that will be the LAST time she leaves the house for a VERY long time. We had over 500 kids there last night! Not one single problem! That says a lot for the management and staff, not to mention the children....they were well behaved! Once again another fun, friendly and SAFE event for local kids!

Welcome to Paulding and welcome to PCOM. We moved here from Long Island 5 yrs ago and love it here! I disagree with many of the suggestions here........but I don't like BBQ (except Jim N Nicks!) For pizza, I suggest Mellow Mushroom in Hiram. Taki Japanese steak house is very good. Steak and Shake, inexpensive and good, also on 278 in Hiram. The BEST Italian is Pasta Bella in Austell, but it is about a 40 minute ride from you (well worth it in my opinion). There is a TON of fast food in Hiram.....and there is good Chinese food in the Kroger Shopping Center at 61 and 278. T

Unfortunately, we are can not hold a child against their will if they want to wait outside for their parents. We also do not chase them off the property while they are waiting for their parents to pick them up.........that would not be a wise thing to do. I would rather have them wait in the parking lot (where their parents are expecting them to be) rather then chase them off the property where something might happen to them. We always have a PO there to keep an eye on them. It's the best we can do...........

There has not been a problem at an all night skate in the 5 years that I have been the sales/marketing manager for Sparkles. We consider the safety of our guests to be our number one priority. There is no particular age.....it is up to you to decide if your child is old enough to spend the night, however, the average age is probably 11-17.
