  1. Absolutely, we ship daily! The online prices are fine but you can just call the store or email your order instead of going through the website. We can take payment over the phone. We only show about 5,000-6000 online but we also have over 40,000 items in the store. We just haven't been able to link the two sources together yet, so feel free to call or email me a wish list and we can quickly look up anything and see if we have it in the store. Thanks for thinking of us to shop. I am not great about promoting the website enough. I am mentally flogging myself for that with many a wet noodle!
  2. That is true for some. I like to think if it helps our tax base, then it is not so bad and still gives back to the community but still prefer small mom & pops, when possible. Susan
  3. Still a few hours left!We open until 6pm;o)
  4. Yay, us! Yes, we still have some left. They go out quick but there is always another copy coming in, it seems!
  5. A reason to put cookbooks on sale is here! It is National Brandied Fruit Day which celebrates sweet tasting fruit, soaked and marinated in brandy. This is a day that you have most certainly booked on your calendar, in eager anticipation. Well, it has finally arrived. Brandied fruit...now that's cause for a celebration! As a matter of fact, you may want to drink to that. Me, the whole idea of making fruit drunk is kinda weird! Enjoy a little brandied fruit on this day. Do so, with family and friends. We hope you have a blissful National Brandied Fruit Day and come in and stock up on
  6. Oddly though, when we order things online from companies that do not use UPS or Fedex because the price is too high, we want everything NOW! We don't want to pay more, just have it magically appear. We ship about 400-500 packages a month from our store and 99.9% go USPS because that is the shipping that is affordable to our customers and 99.5% of the time, they receive their books, cds and dvds in 1-3 days. If the post office were to go to a few days, everyone would blame us for it taking so long to get their goods. Now, I still believe in shop locally, shop small business as often as you
  7. Great thinking SusieQ! Let's all start that trend again, I know many of us have gotten away from the art of sending a little note in the mail. I love getting them, don't you?!
  8. Hubby is a letter carrier. I am partial to the postal service indeed. Please remember how much it would be for you to take your letter to it's destination and it really is a pittance compared to other services. We are still cheaper than other countries and there is not much you can do for under 50 cents these days. I can't drive a few miles for what it costs to mail a letter to California. Do hubby and the other letter carriers a favor, if you don't like your junk mail. Put it in the prepaid envelope that a lot of it comes in and send it back to the sender
  9. and this post is exactly what I mean http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/278808-restaurant-owner-hiram-ga/page__pid__3542153?do=findComment&comment=3542153 14 people viewing that bad experience and over 500 views so far because it is bad. Don't get me wrong, it looks like that restaurant may have issues and the member is trying to get an answer but really, we need to post our good and be interested just as much.
  10. On this same topic, when you have a great experience at a local business, do you share it with others? Or, do you only share when you have a bad experience?? I have found that people that have a bad experience speak way louder than those that have a good or great experience at a business. While I understand that customer service should always be outstanding, it seems like if people shout from the rooftops when they find a new vet, restaurant, store, accountant or any other business that worked for them, why not share that instead of just letting that business go on hoping their efforts did mak
  11. Thanks Deewee! Sometimes a reminder helps us all Thanks for the thoughts, Gipper girl!We ate at Olive Tree only a few days ago! The food was yummy! We really try to keep our money at the locals when we can. Wish there were more that we can eat a healthy meal at;o)
  12. How sweet of you to say! We treat everyone just like we want to be treated so we hope everyone ALWAYS has a great experience;o)
  13. Have you thought about helping your neighbors lately? Your neighbors may own a local business and when you spend money with them they can spend their money in your town with others and also help others! Please consider this BEFORE shopping at the big W store or other places. I know it has been discussed before, but it bears repeating! I just drove by another place that was out of business and I feel horrible that it was due to lack of business and they did scream they were open from the rooftops, just lost out to the big box places. When you pay until it hurts, look at whom will
  14. Today's holiday pick to celebrate is Wear Something Gaudy Day, which is your chance to really stick out in a crowd. The word "gaudy" refers to something bright, gay, cheap, showy, outlandish, or otherwise not in good taste. Have a little fun on this day. For just one day, forego fashion and style. Look for something to wear that's really wild and wacky, and will stick out like a sore thumb wherever you go. If you don't have anything like this in your wardrobe, perhaps a friend does. Note: If you're always garbed in gaudy attire, this is your day to look like everyone else! Orig
  15. Since I am the boss of me, I think I will thank myself later in the day when I have a chance! It is also Wear Something Gaudy Day.
  16. Not thrilled with most the cast, except Lula, that was dead on! I imagined Danny Devito for Vinnie and Ranger should be a tad older then who they picked. Time will tell. We have all the books in the store right now, but they have been selling like hotcakes. If you haven't read them, stop in and stock up. They are so funny!
  17. I guess there may be some of that but it is open to all ages that want to participate and it is full of costumes, gaming fun, art and more!

  20. will do! Thanks for the input, I think we are leading that way. Does it make you plan your book shopping schedule or is it a "good to know" kind of thing?
  21. Dana, no we don't today. But tomorrow, maybe? Do you want me to PM if we find a copy? We are able to get it from another bookshop friend of ours. PM me your phone # or call the store for more info;o)
