  1. I have severe Asthma.

    Here are a few tips:

    1. If there is a pet in the home, do not allow it in your son's sleeping area/room.

    2. Make certain he is sleeping on 2 pillows if he can. This will help more than you know. It takes some getting use to, but if he will it will make a big difference and he will be more comfortable.

    3. If possible, take the carpet out of his sleeping area, OR vacuum everyday (around bedtime) with a very good HEPA filter vaccuum.

    4. Wash you sheets everyday if possible. If he has a dust mite allergy, this will help. Wash them as close to bedtime as possible.

    5. No blinds in his room. This are BAD. They harbor dust. Use shades only and no curtains.

If I can think of any others, I will post them.

Thank you soooo much for the advice! We are definitly taking the carpet out of his room and laying down the laminate floors. I think that will help a lot and will be a lot easier to keep clean I hope!

  2. I had to take my 8 year old to the ER last night because of difficulty breathing. The doctor thinks he may have nocturnal asthma. I have noticed hat he has a hard time breathing at night so we usually use an inhaler before he goes to sleep. I am just wondering if anyone here has some suggestions on other things that may help him as well. TIA!

  3. I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my mom (beachbum) and dad! This is their 28th! I just wanted to tell them both that they are the best parents! I love them sooooo much. I have never seen two people be married for 28 years and still be this crazy about eachother! You guys are the best!

  4. Saturday, June 28th at the Dallas Theater we will be having a Volunteer Information Meeting at 11AM. Anyone interested in volunteering at the Theater is welcome to attend. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and professional individuals--no theater experience is required. We will meet under the Theater marquee at 208 Main Street in downtown Dallas.

The Joe M. Turner Magic Show will be here at 7PM on Saturday June 28th as well. I recently met Joe and he performed one single magic trick with dice which befuddled me entirely--so I can't wait to see his entire show! This will be an excellent event for all ages and ticket sales will benefit McKenna Farms. Tickets are $5 at the door or you can call 770-443-9672 to buy tickets in advance.

Please note that Main Street will be closed to driving traffic on Saturday because of the Car Show but there is parking available in a number of locations: at a new city parking lot at the corner of Church Street/E. Griffin Street, behind the Courthouse Annex building, and at the First United Methodist Church. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy both the magic of Joe M. Turner at the Dallas Theater and the Car Show in one evening, so come on out and join us!

I will be there for sure! I am so happy and thankful to be able to be a part of our wonderful theatre!

  5. I feel sooo special when I get a thread named after me!

Can't find it.....maybe the nascar forum...

Don't flatter yourself, honey  You are not that special!

  6. Thanks yall! I was really concerned because his grades have not been that great this year! I know now that he is capable though so he is going to have to get his little butt in gear!

  7. I was sooooo worried about my son and the CRCT's but, the teacher called me yesterday and said he passed! :yahoo: That means no summer school so I am really happy! I was so prepared to be sending him to summer school! What a relief :clapping: Just thought I would share!

  8. "Physics... car at 35+ mph into/onto/over a small or even medium-sized animal is going to be fatal. At that point, I'm not even going to try"

This is where you are WRONG! I came home from work one day and my black lab was gone, some nice person had let him out of our fence! I looked for him in the rain until midnight. I got up and went to work on Christmas Eve to find out that he had been hit by a dump truck. A nice man stopped and took him to a local animal hospital. When I found out I immediately went to him. He is still with me today and you would NEVER know he has been hit by a dump truck!

That's AMAZING! What a lucky pup!
