  1. The Bible says to pray without ceasing. Maybe if you trusted in God and prayed now and then you would not be such a grumpy individual. Nobody forces you to look at p.com. If you don't like "us", stop visiting this website!

  3. I got two kittens in early December.  My husband wasn't crazy about the idea, but he has been tolerant.  I've even caught him holding and petting the female.  He gets really angry when they jump on furniture, sharpen their claws etc but I am usually able to calm him.

Well, last night I got an ear full.  He went to get his laptop, and noticed one of his cords had been chewed in half by one of the cats. :o   He was furious, and he's still talking about it this morning.  How can I prevent them from chewing things like cords and cables?  I cannot watch them constantly...

    Any help appreciated.

        :p :p :p :p :p

Edited to say, she's my sister, I HAVE to make fun of her....or I would'nt be me! Just ask her!

  4. I personally am a saved by the blood of Jesus Christian, and the thought of these people being witches really cracks me up. They are about as much witches as I am Santa Claus. I totally diasagree with their "beliefs", and if I found out my child's teacher practiced any type of religion I felt was a sin against God, I would kindly and calmly have them removed from that teachers class so as not to take a chance that they might try and share their beliefs with my child.

In saying that, they are still human beings and they have the right to hold down a job.

  5. Melanie Rainey (770) 445-3247. She is a former IRS agent and she is AWESOME!! My husbands company made a mistake in how much tax to take out in 2004. They had us filing married with 10 dependants!!! Needless to say, she saved our bootys!! She does it out of her home in a subdivision behind the Saverite on 61. I HIGHLY recommend her. My SIL uses her, her SIL, jaime78 uses her, lots of others.

  6. I don't care how tough her day was, this was inexcusable...

Like I said, maybe you had to be there to agree with this...

Have you ever had a bad day and then had to deal with an unruly 3 year old that was yours???? NO!!!! You can't say that you have because you do not have kids. I have a three year old and ten year old and if I have said over and over to stop and they don't, forget speaking harshly, I'm popping a butt, store or no store!

  7. Okay I think everyone is missing the point...

It was not WHAT the Mother said, did not bother me at all...

It was the WAY she said it, it was so full of pure hatred and terror,

most anyone would have been shocked at the way she screamed it in his tiny face...

To any reasonable person or parent,

it was horrifying the way that she crushed that child...

Maybe you had to see it to believe it...

Sometimes you have to speak harshly to your children because begging and pleading in your sweet tone doesn't work.

  8. Who knows what kind of day she might have been having or how many times she had told him to get off of the cart. I have never screamed at my kids in a store, only because I do not want to draw attention to my situation, but have certainly spoken harshly to them, especially if they have been told numerous times to stop doing something, especially something that they could get hurt doing.

  9. I moved from Douglasville to Bremen in 2003 and had to switch from Greystone to Carroll EMC. They are pretty much the same. My original deposit was moved from Greystone to Carroll. They really did everything for me, I just had to call Greystone and they shifted everything to Carroll. My hubby works for Greystone, so it sucks that we have to have Carroll, but there is really no difference.

  10. I will assume that everyone making remarks has a 14 year old daughter too?? If you don't or haven't had one yet how can you say how you would react???

You'll notice I have not posted anything as to what the original poster should do with her 14 year old. That is just my point, if you don't have a child in that situation, you do not know what you would do. I have just noticed that mrshoward always has a reply as to her opinion on children's issues, yet she has none.

  11. I am going to assume that no one is saying that you don't know anything about children, mrs.howard.  But, knowing about children and how you react to your own are two very different animals.

Thank you. That is ALL I'm saying. I don't mean any disrespect, but you don't know until you've been there.

  12. That's all great, but none of these were YOUR kids. It is totally different when their yours. You can get upset, that's your right, but you never know what you would do until you are in that situation.

Okay people sorry for the jack, but I had to respond...

( I copied this from a post I made in August about pet peeves...)

Believe it or not I was once a child and a teenager myself...

People who assume that because I don't have children of my own,

that I could not possibly know anything about children or give advice.

I worked for 3 years in a new baby nursery (ages 6weeks - 6 months)

where I cared for 5 newborns at once, by myself, 8-9 hours a day...

I worked for 2 years as a pre school teacher,

teaching and caring for (10) - 2 yr olds, by myself, 45 hours a week...

I spent 2 summers leading a day camp group for 12 kids ages 4-10,

8 hours a day + field trips +activites, with the office lady on occasion helping me...

I completed my major in college with all A's (1 B)

5 years of study in child psychology focusing mainly on the science of prenatal/neonatal ( newborn )

    brain development...

Lastly My sister went to Europe for a month in June while I played Mommy

    (by myself)

    to my niece & nephew (2 & 4)...

In 30 days I potty trained the 2 yr old and taught both children to sleep through the night without Mommy in the room...

Not even mentioning the hundreds of days & nights of babysitting since I was 13...

hmmm... maybe I do know just a little bit about children...

sorry for the tirade, but this always gets my goat...

  13. I know that I would not be calling the police if my teenager has sex...

I don't mean to be rude, but you have said openly that you do not have children. Until you do, you don't know what you would do. You seem to have very strong opinions about children's issues, yet you have none. I don't get it. I said many times "I will never do that...." about my kids until I had them.

  14. Also, there are potentially two people being cheated on when you think about it.

Suppose the person they are cheating with does not know the other is married?  They may have been led to believe that the person is divorced or separated.

If that person doesn't know, then they as well as the spouse deserve to know the truth.  If they DO know, then the spouse should most definitely be told.

The cheaters both have other spouses.
