  1. I must have missed this. Please provide some info. When did this occur? How long has Gary been running things? I was unaware that he could appoint anyone.

    It was all over pcom.

Go back and check the records when he was promoted.

We will support whoever gets elected that is what good deputies do. I wish all of the canidate good luck as stated earlier. I have not and will not endorse anyone due to our favorite being the one that wins!  :friends:

  2. Oops --- I think luvmydeputy is just a Gary supporter. You don't have to reconsider your vote based on her comment. I hope you vote your convictions -- no I'm sure you'll vote your convictions! :pardon:

I hope no one considers my opinion during voting. I want everyone to make an informed decision.

p.s. not a supporter of anyone right now!

  3. ...and I thought Bruce was still the Sheriff...

I started this topic to ask each of you to just extend a friendly handshake and support our guys during this time of transition. Please do that if you see them on the road. They are here for all of us. Safety is their #1 priority for this county.

I always look forward to seeing pcommers posting your support.

  4. Hello,

I would like to say to all the Deputies and Families , I do realize this being an election year can at times be very stressful . We in Paulding County are very fortunate to have such great Deputies and great families who support them. There are several good candidates running for Sheriff this year who genuinely

want to make the deputies and their families proud, one of the number one issues most candidates are talking about is pay and benefits for deputies. I would also say I have no intentions of changing any staff if elected. I am counting on our Deputies to help me make Paulding better. I know several of the other candidates would say the same.

    Thanks,

    Joey Frey

Changing some staff is not a bad thing. I would surely wait till I worked with them before making that statement. Good luck with your fight for the position. I will see you at the fundraiser on the 12th of July along with the others.

  5. What does the election have to do with the PCSO? We have officers on the street during elections too.

Do you know anyone that works for the SO? Have you asked them about election time at the SO? If not try it and see if they feel stress or pressure with sudden changes. I am guessing by the comment that you may feel as though there is no stress on the employees of the SO during election of a new sheriff. Just guessing.

  6. You're welcome. I can also add that they have a tremendous responsibility for the amount of pay they receive. They must just have a passion for law enforcement because they are definitely underpaid in my opinion.

You are right! My husband does not have to work, he does it because he loves it! He would never do any other job. He along with many others do it because they really care about people and the community we live in. That is why it is so hard to keep spirits up when they just want to do their jobs and get shut down for doing it. It really shows their dedication thru trials like this one.

  7. not for me to post, not for me to say they are right or wrong. Just here to say our guys need your support right now. Sorry for being so iffy but we all know that we must be careful what is posted at election time or any time if it belongs to the SO. All we want is a great sheriff for our hubands and wives that put their life on the line each day and night to keep us safe.

  8. your right about the radios! If you back track public records on the radio traffic and see how often calls for help or status are never heard you would be shocked! All we can do is pray for them when they leave home. With the new "rules" given yesterday we really need to pray for their safety. We need all of them to come home safe each workday and this is a daily challenge with the current issues.

  9. Thanks for the support! They need to know the community is supporting them during times like this. I think I can speak for most of the wives when I say we will always support them at home! I hope when each of you see them in a store or on the roads you give them a hand shake and let them know you are supporting them in these bad times. Remind them change is coming.

  10. We are going there too, this Sunday - Friday for the 4th! My family has a beach house up in Sawgrass (about 20-30 minutes North of St. Augustine). We go down every year and it is great.

There are tons of shops to walk around. The old Fort is pretty cool if you like history stuff. They also have the (very touristy) Fountain of Youth to visit, but I haven't been there in years and years. The beach is great, that is where we spend most of our time.

Have fun! When are you going?

Jay and I will be there at the same time! We have a beach house there. We will be leaving on Tuesday and coming home on Sunday. Our nanny is staying here this time. She doesnt know what she is missing.

  11. When the facility is cosed from 11-2, which is 3 hours and they are homeless and it is very cold or very hot; where are they going to go during this time frame.

God bless you for this service that you are trying to provide.

We will have transportation to take them to Job interviews, education facilities, Library, doctor appts ect... As you know it takes time to drive from one place to another so 3 hours is not that long to have to be gone.

  12. I would love to help. I will even arrange for a sitter since my wife is working so that I don't have to worry about them. I think this is for agreat cause and it's time for all of us to step up and lend a hand to those less fortunate. You never know when this could be one of us looking for help.

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much each and every person is needed. please pm me or missD she is the event planner.

  13. As of now it is only for Paulding. With that being said we don't even have the land or building yet. That is why we are having the fundraiser on July 12th. We have a building waiting to be moved to the land. We need $150,000.00 to buy the land,

    The entry requirements are:

    no convicted felons

    no sex offenders

    no one fleeing domestic violence

no minors under 18 without a guardian

the facility will close each day from 11-2 so everyone must be out.

This is a 30-60 day facility not a 1 day shelter.

We will have a case manager for each person entering the shelter. This person will try to keep the resident on track to complete the program and get a permanent place to live.

Thank you for all of your questions and help with this.

  14. Below is a new one we received today. I will not post names or email addresses of the people asking but would love to help them. This is the actual email today that came in around 7:00 pm:

"what if you need assistance in Paulding my husband left me

and my 8 yr old with nothing i have been staying with friends and its

getting old to them is there any help that would help with rent i found

WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We see this everyday. Most people in Paulding live paycheck to paycheck and if they loose their job or one part of the family leaves or abuse is happening they are homeless.

Alot of people live paycheck to paycheck in Paulding and are only one problem away from losing everything. We really need your help with the fundraiser on July 12th. We are getting phone calls and emails daily from people asking for help. I want to thank all of the pcom family for supporting the shelter.
