  5. Perhaps the person that sent you the email with the attachment, used a font that's not normally installed on most computers and/or yours -- hence, the fonts are looking "funny." There's a ton of fonts / styles available "out there" and to install all possible fonts on a PC would take up a lot of space. Flip side, if someone sends a .pdf file, it's usually not a problem. From another angle, is the attachment a Word document? If so, should be able to view it in Word.
