South Paulding's Homecoming Parade will be going on, later today, on Main St., from Dallas Elementary to just past the old courthouse. No injuries were reported, and the fire was already out when firefighters arrived, Cobb fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd said. Boyd said the incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the University Village Apartments on Canton Place. Fire crews were still on the scene at 8:15, clearing smoke from the stairwell, she said. The collision happened about 9:15 a.m. at the South Sweetwater Road rail crossing just north of Bankhead Highway in Lithia Springs, according to Wes Tallon, a spokesman for Douglas County. I was going down Winndale, towards 61, this morning, around 7:40 -- instead of turning right, towards 278, had to take a left..... There were some officers from PCSO and Dallas PD, directly a flatbed tow truck -- that's all I saw -- I ended up going south on 61, taking some backroads to 278.......really couldn't tell, from the angle I was at, what was going on......but 61 was blocked between 278 and Winndale....
