Incoming chamber chairman not on board with the airport
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Paul Callahan spoke out and look what it got him, Several County workers have spoke out over the years and look what it got them. Chamber and County people if they were required to pay the taxes on the decisions that they make or support I am sure would have a different opinion If the Chairman of the Chamber and the Director of the airport had property/homes that were located at the end of the approach to our airport I do believe they would of found another location to put the airport at. Are you okay with spending millions in tax dollars to build a movie studio and a airport and then se -

I found this very interesting https://www.facebook.com/savepauldingco Good info on here some more http://www.faa.gov/contact_faa/?returnPage=M%2FWY4H%3BZ63%28L_X98%21A%5BUT%40XR%3CR9Q%24D%25+%23QA%3E%3EB8R2C%29BL-%27H5%5B6.DG%3BB%5DI%21%5D4%0A8GJB%3B%5DD9%23%2CD%2F_4%2FVL5%40C9_I%26%3BF%24%3BYC-F2%0A&mailto=5%29S%29%3CH%2A%2747XL%40XX0%2AG8EZAY_%3C%409%290%0A&subject=%3C06I8H%2BJ049%25LJ%28H%3CTKUT%40%5DZSDI%25%27D5%246N3%3ESM+++%0A&fb_source=message -

I find a item in the agenda for Tuesday BOC meeting a little ironic....2. Discuss action to adopt Resolution 13-40 Re-adopting and affirming the five ethical principles Does reaffirming them mean they are going to actually be open, transparent and honest, And that they will tell us what the deal is? Oh well I am going to the 10:00 session just to see.

I disagree this is not a done deal the FAA has to approve passenger service, and that has not happened. Just need to stop the flow of Dollars to the projects that have to be completed. And that process is ongoing as we speak -
I heard a collection was going to be taken up to get it published in the New era Maybe the Paulding Neighbor will post it for free Shame we cannot use tax dollars to post it. Like some do

Beach Bum You did not have a clue who I was Pubby introduced us and you gave me the flyer that you were passing out in the mall area around the fountain area, If I have misrepresented this then please tell me where. Yes people were leaving the courthouse and the other offices for lunch Etc. And I guess you will contend that you knew everyone that you gave a flyer to; Come on Lady no one believes the BS you are spreading in this thread. I never said it was done to a captive audience I did say it was in the same area of town and it was. -
Well said :yahoo:

HA HA HA HA LMFAO and you have the gall to question citizens handing out flyers on the Streets of Downtown Dallas when you have done the same thing??? Was that not you that I met in 2006 handing out flyers in the courthouse square supporting the $125 million dollar school bond that the citizens had previously voted down? Are you the only person that is allowed public access to promote ones cause? -
Very important to write a letter to the FAA opposing the passenger service

Commissioner Pownall….. Thank you very much for speaking up for the citizens of Paulding County who oppose the airport expansion and the Introduction of these large commercial jets, into, our community. You are to be commended for standing up for the people that you represent in your district. It is quite refreshing to see a politician actually live by the commitments they made during the election cycle almost four years later. We all know that none of the Present Commissioners including Commission chairman David Austin campaigned on the premise that they would bring commercial air se

Several Town Hall Type meetings structured where those both pro and con can actually speak out and have their voice heard like the toll road meeting. Let both sides be heard then vote. People did not move here just for employment, They moved here because of the quite peaceful settings and laid back atmosphere of rural living Sure they are a few that come here for employment. A lot of the top Department Heads of this administration that was hired or retained by David Austin are not Paulding residents but rather are from Haralson County, Douglas County, And Cobb County. Dang Why not hire from -

It is quite amazing how the cost of the airport has changed.. In the 2004 video what was the cost $ 26 million and now we are over $55 million And just recently passed a bond issue for another $ 3.2 million with about $ 8 million more needed just to get the first flight from the runway. Commissioner it is past time to quit throwing millions of dollars into this money pit. -
Thank you so much for posting the actual letter, I have tried for hours to post it and I was unable. Please PM me the method that you used so I can post some other items of interest that I have received.

3Facebook 0Twitter 14ShareThis 17 Here is a copy of a article that appeared in the AJC Yesterday. It appears that Commissioner Pownall is attempting to tell his side of the events as they have been unfolding. A copy of the letter sent by Commissioner Pownall to the Delta airlines CEO will be posted as soon as it can be digitally reproduced. The article indicates that the ruling of Judge Beavers will be appealed. By Kelly Yamanouchi - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution In the legal fight over Paulding County’s efforts to commercialize its airport, the county just won the latest bat

Judge Beavers rules that the Airport bonds can go forward
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am not too concerned with this ruling, Fact is I expected it to be like this. Now if the appeals courts in Atlanta uphold Judge Beavers then I will began to get concerned. I think Judge Beavers ruled fairly based on the evidence that was heard. I expect this to be drug out through all the courts in Georgia and to cost the Paulding County tax payers a couple of million dollars just to get a $3.2 million bond approved Heck it is reported that the county spent about a $1.5 million already on Surepip and that case is still not resolved. Folks this is going to be a long expensive journey, si -

You made some very good and well thought out points. I welcome more openness in this matter I surely would welcome some town hall meetings as well as a County wide vote. Thanks for the input -

I sure hope so. I do not want my tax dollars spent in this manner enough is enough let Silver Comet LLC fight this in court -
Now of course this has not gone uncontested our very own Commission Chairman David Austin has elected to fight this out with the ones that are opposed to this Airport expansion. Of course this is just the second Law suit that is being contested by the County tax payers. It would appear to me that Silver Comet Partners should invest some of their $$$$$$ into this endeavor Should we really be footing the bill with tax dollars that is sure to end up in the tens of millions of dollars You read and then you decide From: "David Austin" [daustin@paulding.gov] Subject: A note regar

Just a little more information that the citizens of Paulding County should be aware of. http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2013/11/20/delta-statement-on-paulding-airport.html?page=all I am aware that this has turned into a David vs Goliath as referenced in a most recent chamber meeting but do ya'll really think the tax payers of Paulding County can take on the city of Atlanta and the chamber there? not to mention Delta. I would rather see my tax dollars spent with some road improvements in the County than legal fees . Of course Delta has also uncovered some things that does not ap

And neither does some of the top people that work at the administration Building. This is getting quite amazing a lot live in Cobb County. Some of those worked for the previous administration. Heck some even live in Douglas County. -

I really do not know how to explain it any better to you and Pubby,I Do know that it is not just the homes that are in the immediate area of the airport that will be affected. The entire county and parts of the surrounding county will be affected. Here is the deal I am willing to take you Pubby C Wright and David Austin To the portion of Fulton County and Clayton County and we will take the tour and you can see first hand what a airport does to a county, It is not just the immediate are it is the surrounding areas as well. People sitting around in a conference rooms making decisions to start -

I THINK I SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING?? First a couple of flights a week then a couple a day now according to you about 27 per day, First a toll road and then no toll road few months later and a few secret meetings and Bingo a toll road. Pubby you forget I have lived through the devastation of Clayton County and what a airport does to an area I saw it first hand not too many years ago their was no Interstate, Intrastate, Marta or a four lane highway to Hartsfield Jackson, there was a river running through it(Flint River ) Paulding County does not need a commercial airport. We do not need to spe
