  1. Had to get out of Chicago, my sister lived here (Powder Springs). Visited her in July of 1983, moved here that October. Was more like home to me, a little bigger even then. My home town in Utica, Kentucky had a population of 500. One Methodist Church, one Baptist Church, one school that went to 9th grade with one class per grade. Oh yeah and Mackies general store. We "went to town" once a week to buy groceries on Saturday morning. :)

    Stationed at NAS after returning from Viet nam to train Marine reserves. Met wife who is from Smyrna. returned to Georgia upon retiring from USMC

     

    Thanks for your service. When were you in Vietnam? Hubby was there 70-72.

     

  2. I was looking back at some topics and noticed some transplants have some good and bad opinions of the South.

    I want to know what brought you south.

    My dad came down from Boston to attend Georgia Tech. He met my mother here, fell in love with her and the South. Thats what brought me here.LOL
