  1. The places you described sound like a little girl wearing a tank top and shorts. Sun poisoning immediately came to mind. Sun poison whelps can pop up immediately or hours after exposure. It won't hurt to ask your Dr. about it.

i thought prickly heat when it started appearing. she was wearing capri's, socks, sneakers and a t-shirt.

i hope e's rash clears up soon.

thanks. just before she went to bed she was all happy thinking that she would get the day off school tomorrow if it's still there. i know she'll be crushed if she wakes up and she's fine.

    :)

  2. Mrs Jones, since I didnt know how to add a picture to the post,. Ive added it to my profile. You will see where I circled one of the little bite looking things. So I could see how it does during the night.

goodness.... i freaked out when i saw your picture.... then i realised that the black circle was what you had added, i was about to call 911 for you!

it does kinda look the same. but it's everywhere.

    :)

  3. Oh, that is hilarious about the "Hanes" thing!!!!! Yeah, we were headed to Taylor Farm Park for softball practice. My husband works for Raving Brands Company, and that is one of the restaurants they own. Its always a treat ( Sarcasm ) riding around in that vehicle now-especially since that was MY car PRIOR to it being wrapped! I love Honda CRVs and we bought it used in Vermont, so that I could get to pet sitting jobs in snowstorms. Oh well, it could have been worse, the other option was the restaurant " Boneheads"!!!!! My 10 year old daughter said " Great , just great- to punish me, you could drop me off at school in a car that says "BONEHEADS" on it....... Anyway- I have heard of 5th disease also-maybe thats what to look up... Or look on the georgia department of Public Health website- sometimes they have updates of things going around.....

i love love love my lil CRV.

    :D

i'll call the pediatrician's office in the morning and see what they think it might be. i hate taking the kids in though, cos i always feel like they're gonna leave with sompin worse.

  4. My little girl has gotten a rash. Hers is on the back of her legs. If someone could tell me how to post a pic Id post it for you to see if your babys looks like this.

i am so not good at posting pics

how long has your little girl had the rash, and is it just on the back of her legs?

my daughter's whole body is just about covered.

    :)

  5. Sanjaya's hair is still cool the contest doesn't matter about the hair it matters about if you can sing and he can sing....cause he's still there isn't he....

he can sing better than me, but i don't think he "can" sing.

he's still there cos there's a conspiracy i tell ya.

  6. There are problems with mysterious rashes everywhere.....

Forest Park Middle School will be closed for the rest of the week.

Clayton County public schools spokesman Charles White said all the students were sent home early Monday afternoon.

The students had returned to the school Monday morning as officials worked to determine what caused 28 students and one teacher to develop a rash Friday.

    hmmmmmmmmm

her rash popped up at home, early on monday morning. went away. this may be a different rash (it seems more predominant) that appeared this afternoon at the park of dreams. her brother is showing no signs of any irritation.

Have you read anything about 5ths diease, some kids at the school I did my internship at had it and it started on the face and spread I dont know details but I am sure you could find some online somewhere.

i have read info on that a couple of years ago. seems like it is in conjunction with a very high fever as well as the face looking like it has been slapped. (hence out family calling it "slap face disease")

  7. Isn't there a school , not in Paulding, but somewhere in metro Atlanta, that is shut down because all the students have a rash? I maybe off , but I thought I heard that. P.S. Mrs Jones- when you were headed down 92 and then Pine Valley Road tonight, around 6:50 pm- We were behind you in our Honda CRV - Bright red- wrapped with Shanes Rib Shack on it. I had to chuckle- and tell my husband about the fudge .......

that's so funny, cos when i was trying to read yer car in my rear view mirror all i could read was "hanes" and was thinking maybe they had won their car in an undie competition. (seriously, i'm not trying to be rude, but that's what i thought.)

i was gunnin it trying to get to the benedryl!

    :)

  8. Sounds like hives to me. And that could be environmental rather than food borne.

I'm like the most allergic living person on the planet, and I get mysterious hives sometimes. They appear on my face, back, arms, and upper thighs. They ITCH like the dickens, and scratching just makes them itch more, but I'm also sore wherever the hives pop up. NO ONE has ever been able to isolate the allergen that causes this though. They usually just give me a shot of steroids and send me on my merry way, wishing me good luck. :o

However, the FIRST symptom I always get before a hive attack is swollen, achey joints in my hands/fingers. Ask your daughter if her hands feel...I dunno how to explain it...sorta stiff and achey before/when you see a rash.

I've been told that if it's environmental, you might not figure out EXACTLY what the cause is. I mean, ya know, the "environment" is a purty big place. ;)

this is where they are located.

i'll definately ask her about her hands.

today she was playing so hard that she didn't notice them until we got in the car to leave the park. the wholw time i was just watching more and more appear all over her (silently thinking oh crap, what now) when she saw the bumps she started screaming  i told her she would be ok, so she calmed down

she soaked in the bath and took some benedryl, so hopefully they will be gone by morning.

    :)

  9. Seriously, for 7 years now in a row I would break out in March and April in a red rash. A day of benedryl and it was gone.

benedryl is our drug of choice. it has worked on the rashes to keep them away, but it just makes her act like a poor sad lost puppy. i'm afraid to keep using it for fear she'll build up resistance to it.

i'd take her to the pediatrician, but the rash always disappears within an hour or two after waking up... and after the benedryl is given.

this time, it really looks a little more severe than the allergies she got from the hotdog, chinese and pomegranate soap though.

    me

  10. is she allergic to flower?

    don't even say that chickadee!

it looks like, if she were it would be a constant rash.

ps: everyone... flower is her new kitty. we've had her for about three weeks though.

Have you washed your sheets? :ninja:

    not since she was 2.

    :p

  11. no detergent changes recently.

letsee, the rash she has going on now is looking like small mosquito bites but they are kinda clustered. no pus. pretty splotchy. i wouldn't say that it's centralised to the "warm areas" like elbows knees, however it is moreso prodominant in those areas. it just looks real awful on her pretty lil face and neck. her jammies are covering the rest of her body, thank goodness.

    :(

  12. Eczema maybe? my son's is usually worse in high pollen season

the is a red rash with no dryness. i always was under the impression that excema was kind of flakey. am i wrong?

  13. ok, this is driving me crazy....

i tried to help gaileespaz the other week with my suggestion that maybe there was a hotdog allergy going around  but now after my child getting a rash from hotdogs, chinese food, pomegranate soap and the park of dreams i am at wits end.

the (what i thought might be a) hotdog and chinese food rash/allergy appeared the morning after consumption. the soap incedent more or less happened within hours. then this afternoon at the park of dreams as we played my child slowly became more and more spotted.

it's a rash of red bumps that is on her face, across the top of her back, on her elbows and arms and legs.

    sigh.

    any insight?

    me :)

ps, i have heard the karma train whistle blowing lately, but i was hoping it would hit me, not my kids.
