  1. You can buy fireplace guards at Target for $20. They have double sided type that sticks to the fireplace. After a few months of being tugged on by our toddler they did come off, but you can buy more type to restick them. This has worked well for us...hope it works for you, too.

  2. I am glad to see Abby and Dr. Kovach together.  I just hope they can keep a relationship together for the baby.  I would hate to see them broken up...AGAIN!

Did you hear Abby say "I want us to have this baby together" at the end. My heart jumped. I am glad she and Dr. Hottie are together. I wonder if there will be wedding bells.

BTW--what do you think is going to be "revealed" about Galant and Neela---spell check on those names

    I love ER!!!

  3. Thanks for sharing that Shawna, it was really moving.

I've also heard God has three answers: Yes

                                                              Not right now &

I have other plans for you

How true this is. I have often said, thank God, God is in charge, because I can't imagine how much I would have messed things up otherwise. :)

Shawna's post and your post really make me reflect on my life over the last year. As some of you may remember, my son, Chandler, was born with a cyst on his brain. The medical name was an arachnoid cyst. Chandler's cyst was discovered 3 days after he was born. Once I was told of his cyst, all I could pray for God to take Chandler's cyst away and bless him with a healthy wonderful life. I prayed this everyday for months and months. All the while, each ultrasound and CT would reveal that the cyst was still there. Finally when Chandler was 4 months old, he had to have surgery to fenestrate the cyst--which means, make a hole for the cyst to drain. I thought this was God's answer to my prayers--but 1 month following surgery, a CT revealed that the cyst had not drained. I was so angry at God---I did not understand why he was not answering my prayers for my son. Well, events lead us to a surgeon in California who was going to try a different approach and technique to again fenestrate the cyst. I should mention that from the day the cyst was discovered, our doctors told us it was impossible to remove these cyst-- fenestration or placing a shunt were are only options. So the prayers I was praying was impossible in man's eyes. Well, to make a long story short. In March we took Chandler to California for surgery. After 4 hours of surgery, the doctor came out and told us that he was able to cut away the entire front and back wall of the cyst, which essentially meant that the cyst was removed.

So God had answered my prayers afterall--he just did it in His time and in His way. And because of this, we have actually been able to refer other children to the surgeon in California who have also had successful removals of cyst, and we have started an on-line support group for parents of children with arachnoid cyst. So many, many blessings have come from this---all because God knew what he was doing, and did it according to his plan and not mine

  4. I'm a GRITS--girl raised in the south, but I had a mental brake down and married on of those d@mn yankees---just joking, everyone calm down.

On the serious side, it's not so bad being married to a yankee---just the yankee's family. :(

  5. These funds not only benefit those unwilling to help themselves, but also those unable to help themselves. For example, if you have a premature baby, or a child with some type of catostrophic illness, then at a certain dollar amount assistance does kick-in. This is true whether the child is insured or not. This is one example, there are thousands of others in which federal and state support is justifiably needed. Again, I do agree that an abled body, abled minded, lazy @$$ shouldn't be mooching the system. But there are cases that warrant assistance.

  6. Half of all the money the federal government takes out of you check goes to three programs.

    1.Social Security

    2.Medicare

    3.Medicaid

How does it feel to know that half of all that money, your money, is going to those that refuse to do anything with their lives and choose to live off your hard work???

    <_<

That's a bold statement when you consider that those programs benefit the elderly, babies and children. I agree that there are way too many "mooching" the system, but to categorize everyone so broadly is just plain ignorant.
