It's obvious you don't understand where I'm coming from as well. I think he's offended only because I have disagreed with him on many occasions, so he feels compelled to find blame or fault where there is none.

I could understand your concern had I called you or another black person "Buckwheat," but that wasn't the case at all. The character "Buckwheat" from the Our Gang series was anything but being racist. He was called "Buckwheat" because his hair looked like the tops of buckwheat.

Please explain to us why you find it offensive.

Beats the heck out of me. It's nothing more than a simple play on words.

All they want is something to bitch about against conservatives.

Pubby says he don't get the joke. Perhaps he's never heard of Cream of Wheat, a hot breakfast cereal. Someone will probably accuse Nabisco of being racist because of the cereal box cover.

Here's a little history lesson about the Our Gang series. It was the first in movies to make white kids and black kids equal with each other. Ernest Morrison received the stage name Sunshine Sammy Morrison when he first appeared in a film in 1912 as a baby. Because he did not cry during shooting, the crew called him "Sunshine." His father added Sammy to it. Morrison was also the first black actor to be signed to a long-term acting contract and he was a kid at that. Eugene Jackson was the actor who replaced Morrison. He was called "Pineapple" because of how he combed his hair. It loo

Fact 1: Character in the OP is Buckwheat from the Our Gang movie series. Reference to him is in no way a racial slur. Fact 2: Some people will go to any length to try to prove a racist intent when there isn't one. Fact 3: Some people let political correctness suck the humor out of their lives. They worry too much if something said is going to offend someone.

You crack me up. Be thankful his name is now Kareem of Wheat! No kidding. I thought him doing those skits were hilarious.
-
If you don't care what I think, then why do you bother to respond to anything I post? Who decided Buckwheat was a derogatory word?
-
Where is there racism in the Buckwheat joke? Because Buckwheat happens to be black? The joke was the play on the name Buckwheat. What if Buckwheat in Our Gang had been a white kid and I had used that picture; would that be racism? You guys are really stretching.

Your problem is you don't want people here who have opinions differing from yours; primarily conservatives. You are typical of the bunch who say, "people need to be more tolerant..." yet you demonstrate a lack of tolerance all the time for those who don't agree with you or think like you. In other words, you're nothing more than a walking, talking hypocrite. You also demonstrate many times that when it comes to conservatives, you are one of the most hateful people here.

You obviously have a problem and that's a lack of sense of humor. I feel bad for you.

I had no doubt you would call this an act of racism. You see racism where it doesn't exist. First of was the "Our Gang" series a racist program? Of course not. This photo is nothing more than a play on words. Excuse me, but how is this negative?

I think the teacher could have found a less controversial method to discuss how bullying is wrong.

Why Are White Gang Members Destroying Their Own Community?

COWA is a race baiter. He wants to believe the word "thug" is the new n-word for blacks. Because he says he hasn't seen it used in the reporting of the biker incident, that it must be true. What I kept hearing used to describe these guys was "biker gang" and "gang members." -

I think they're thugs. I did see where they exchanged gunfire with the police. Perhaps the thugs decided to be good little boys and girls and comply with the officers after they saw they were out armed and in a lose-lose situation. You sound disappointed the police didn't guy them all down. -
Yes it is.
