Unfortunately, the Democrats ideas for border security are not very effective. Now you worry about character? You didn't give a damn about Bill Clinton's character while he was president.

During the Reagan administration, the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and passed immigration reform that called for tougher border security. The problem afterward was, the Dems never included funding for it in budgets. Why in the hell are Democrats so opposed to border security that will keep people from illegally crossing the border?

Actually it can be said the shutdown is the result of the Democratic Party playing to its base. After all, they are the ones who refused the funding for the wall, while asking for additional funding to send to Central American countries.
