Paulding.com Editorial asks ... was airport deal really that secret?
pcfanatic replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
What is the name of the Media outlet, PUBBY INC. ??? -
FYI. Alan Shipp is a Paulding County resident. As a matter of fact, he is David Carmichaels next door neighbor and a big contributor to David Austin's campaign. Isn't it a small and cozy world.

I guess you were out of school the day that they we teaching elected officials are fair game, but private citizens are not. Elected officials ran for office knowing this. If they don't like it they should step down.
-
FYI. Tommie Graham's website has no mention of him supporting commercialization of the Paulding Airport. I guess he was overcome by circumstances (i.e. Brett Smith's sales pitch). You decide. http://tommiegraham.com/

BB, I suppose it is hard for you to maintain class and dignity in your life, when you have neither. Your post was dispecable.

Until you have something concrete it is all "pie in the sky". By the the way who put out that news release, the IBA?
-
Pubby, Just to remind you, this entire discussion is not about who Delta has or has not screwed over. It is about who the Paulding AA, IBA, and BOC has screwed over, the Citizens of Paulding County. Read the below link to remind yourself of the "wonderful job creating actions" taken by the IBA and the BOC at taxpaper expense. Sorry I'm not as long winded as you, but I'm not getting paid by the word. http://www.cbsatlanta.com/story/15257302/movie-studio-construction-could-be-horror-for-taxpayers

Pubby will not like it, but there is a very good article on the front page of Fridays' AJC. It is about the abuses and the growing growing debt that is being issued by the development authorities around the state. An audit of some of the agencies revealed abuses and the worrisome growth of the debt. This article could have been written about our Industrial Building and Airport Authorities. Particularly their secretive meetings, issuing of bonds, and their incestuous relationship with the BOC, the CoC and each other. I encourage everyone to read this article and see how it relates to what

Another lie being perpertrated by the Airport Authority has been exposed. In an attempt to ram the commercilazation through, right after the Silver Comet announcement, Blake "the Pied Piper of Pauding County" Swafford stated " no environmental approvals are required". And all the "rats" on the Airport Authority, the Board of Commisioners, and the Paulding Chamber fell right in line and followed Blake into the river. All thes folks need to get their heads out of their "arses" and wake up to the reality about this proposal. There may be a few more lies exposed. Like 2000-3000 jobs, only

Oh yes, now I remember, you're the "enlightened one" that said no one in Paulding County had the money to file the lawsuit aginst the BOC, so it had to be Delta.
-
Just like it is no surprise the Chamber of Commerce is going to suck up to Austin and the BOC. How much money does the BOC give to the Chamber every year? At least Delta is spending their own money, they are not giving away the taxpayers money to their buddies.

As to Heath, I haven't heard his opinion on this issue at all. I do think you are right, he seems to be very, very quiet about this. Of course, we all know why. Also, I haven't heard anything from "Mikey" Dugan and "Howie" Maxwell, except this one Chamber meeting. Do you think some of the "big boys" down at the Gold Dome called them in and told them to cool the rhetoric about Delta? Just wondering. More power to the BIG D.
-
Do you think the changes at Delta started when the Airline Industry was deregulated and the airlines had to start fighting for survival?
-
Pubby, Thank you for the Civics lessson. I am sorry I am not as enlightened as you. However, in your mind nobody is. In your explanation of how the process works, you sure do a lot of assuming and speculating, none of which changes the real fact the AA and BOC operated behind the backs of the citizens for over a year. I have lived in Paulding County for the last 83 years and believe me I know a lot more of how the process works in Paulding County, than you will ever know.

Calvin Thompson's letter is insulting to anyone who has followed this debate. Does he really think because he calls himself a "devout Christian", people will fall in line and believe anything he puts in a letter? For him to write a letter stating that everything was done out in the open is the biggest pile of BS, I have ever heard. If he is saying everything was above board and open, why did it take over a year for the citizens to figure out what was going on. Is he saying Paulding citizens are that stupid? His comments are beyond unbelieveable. The AA board's actions may have been d

Even if the airport expansion goes through, the politicians are going to continue to bleed you for every tax dollar they can. Wake up and face the reality, if the airport generates any money it will mean just more money for them to spend.

So Sad and Disrespectful (In My Opinion)..........

Beach Bum whether you want to believe it or not there are a lot of the anti expansion people out there that fit in the same mold. But you do not want admit that. All you want to do is start a thread trying to trash people who are resisting this expansion because their lives will be changed. What is is your skin in this game? If you do not have real skin in this game, you need to get a life and quit stirring the pot. Let the people who have real skin in this game have their say. -

The only political propaganda I saw was the Politicians riding in the parade, pandering for future votes. -
County's cozy relationship with Silver Comet Partners exposed
pcfanatic replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber Board is certainly risking their credibility by sending out letters containing the information hyped by the AA and BOC. When the board members sign on to this they are putting their reputations and good name on the line. If I were on the Chamber board I would check out the information thoroughly before I signed on. I would would not want to put out such a letter as the "truth". Two examples are below, there are others in their letter: Myth: The Paulding County Airport Authority violated The Georgia Open Meetings Act. Fact: The development of -

Governments are required by law to be transparent, private citizens are not. End of the story. -
County's cozy relationship with Silver Comet Partners exposed

Are you really saying that without the commercialization of the Paulding Airport , Paulding County is going to wither and die?? HA HA HA! The areas that are withering and dying are rural areas due to the general move away from agricultural life and places College park and East Point. Tthose are two really desirable places to live. Why is it, the majority of the people working at the airport (including 700 Delta employees who choose to live in Paulding) live in the outlying counties? Why don't these people move to East Point and College Park so they will have an easy commute to the ai -
Just for the record, I live in SW Paulding and if I am outside, I can hear the airplanes going over at 10,000 feet plus as they head into Hartsfield. What is Hartsfield , 30 miles away?. I am hard of hearing and I do not mean barely hear, they can be easily heard about every 3 minutes in the afternoons. For Kerry Tidmore, "airplane expert", to say at the Chamber meeting that a Harley going up 278 is louder than the airplanes is the most asinine comment to come out of this entire discussion. A Harley doesn't fly over your house. These people will say anything to try and support their cau

So you think when the local Government is doing something I do not agree with, I am supposed to shrug and go on. Isn't this America, the Citizens opposing an action have every right to complain , yell, hold meetings and to do whatever they want to within the law . And you saying everything was done in open meetings is a stretch. It may have been done within the letter of the open meetings law, but was certainly not done in the spirit of the law.
