  1. THE POEM

I knelt to pray but not for long,

I had too much to do.

I had to hurry and get to work

For bills would soon be due.

So! I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

And jumped up off my knees.

My Christian duty was now done

My soul could rest at ease....

All day long I had no time

To spread a word of cheer

No time to speak of Christ to friends,

They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,

    That was my constant cry,

No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time, the time to die.

    I went before the Lord,

I came, I stood with downcast eyes.

    For in his hands God held a book;

It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said

    "Your name I cannot find.

I once was going to write it down...

    But never found the time"

NOW do you have the time to pass it on ?

  2. Holy Moly!  Didn't know about that either.  I saw your sister in laws at church and they didn't mention it.  Good Luck Todd! I hope that you love your new job.  I am sure that you can't wait to see Nathan, not to much longer to go.

No one really knew.... Todd has to pinch himself to make sure it is real himself.

We are looking forward to seeing Nathan. I am sure Jennifer will be the only one that really gets anytime with him when he gets home.

  3. Congratulations Tami and Todd, I didn't hear about the job change from the neighbors.  What school did he go to?

Thanks Dan, It really happened so fast, I am not even sure you neighbors know...LOL He had even talked to your bro about joining ya'll in the fireman's world but as it stands now he is going to Rockmart High. Todd just needed a change.

  4. My daughter and I like to go to scary movies. She is 13 and really likes them. I go with her because I like them too and she couldn't go without me. We went to see "Hostel" on Sat. afternoon. I was horrified but not because it was scary. It was nasty. The sex, nudity, language and drug use was awful. We left after about 15 minutes and got our money back. The lady working the tickets said she was sorry and that the 1st half of the movie was like that and the last part was just cutting toes off. It was only rated R and I say only because the last R movie we went to was just scary not gross. I can't figure out how it made No. 1 unless everyone thought as I did. I hope they all got up and left. It was really gross!!

    Okay, that's my rant. Thanks!

My husband went to see it over the weekend with our daughter and her friend and he said it was very nasty.

  5. Not sure if it is the same thing but my daughter got sick last Sunday and we took her to the ER because we knew that the doctor would not be open on Monday but when her fever went up so high I wanted something done and they told me it had to run it course nothing you could do but give something for the fever and sent us home and she did not get out of the bed for a couple of days but is much better today. Hope your son gets better soon.

  6. Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy

Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to

remove the 10 Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he

    wrote below

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy

Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the

Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his

judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in

Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

    America the Beautiful,

or so you used to be.

    Land of the Pilgrims' pride;

    I'm glad they'll never see.

    Babies piled in dumpsters,

    aboortzion on demand,

    Oh, sweet land of liberty;

your house is on the sand.

    Our children wander aimlessly

    poisoned by cocaine,

    Choosing to indulge their lusts,

    when God has said abstain.

    From sea to shining sea,

    our Nation turns away

From the teaching of God's love

and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,

    how callous we have grown.

When earth is but His footstool,

    and Heaven is His throne.

    We've voted in a government

    that's rotting at the core,

    Appointing Godless Judges

who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer

    in a well deserved tomb,

But brave enough to kill a baby

    before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,

that our land's a moral slum?

How much longer will He wait

    before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,

    from Whom we cannot hide?

What then is left for us to do,

    but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,

    will humbly turn and pray;

    Seek His holy face

    and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven

and forgive us of our sins,

    He'll heal our sickly land

    and those who live within.

    But, America the Beautiful,

if you don't - then you will see,

    A sad but Holy God

    withdraw His hand from Thee.

    ~Judge Roy Moore

Pass this on and let's lift Judge Moore up in prayer.

He has stood firm and needs our support.

    IN GOD WE TRUST!

  7. Psalm 55:22 --- you really need to read this. "Friends are

God's way of taking care of us." This was written by a Hospice of

Metro Denver physician I just had

    one

of the most amazing experiences of my life, and wanted to share it

    with

    my family and dearest friends:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in

    traffic

on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die

    I

barely managed to coast, cursing, into a gas station, glad only that

    I

would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to

    wait

for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make

    the

call, I saw a woman walking out of the "quickie mart" building, and

    it

looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a Gas pump, so I

    got

out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs

    than

that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard

    with

dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her

    up,

and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.

At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman,

    the

ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in

    a car

seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.

I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just

    kept

saying "I don't want my kids to see me crying," so we stood on the

    other

side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to

    California

and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, "And

    you

were praying?" That made her back away from me a little, but I

    assured her

I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent

    me."

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump

    so

she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling,

    walked

to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift

certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to

    the

kids in the c ar, wh o attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the

    pump

eating fries and talking a little.

She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City. Her

    boyfriend

left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She

    knew

she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally in

    desperation had

finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5

years. They lived in California and said she could come live with

    them

and try to get on her feet there.

So she packed up everything she owned in the car She told the kids

    they

were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going

    to

    live there.

I gave her my gloves, a little hug and sai d a quick prayer with her

    for

safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So,

    are

you like an angel or something?"

This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year

angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of

course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away

    and

got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to

    check,

but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the

    flutter of their wings...

Psalms 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain

    thee.

He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

My instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless,

especially for the months in 2006, and I picked you.

Please pass this to four people you want to be blessed and a copy

    back to

    me.

This prayer is powerful and prayer is one of the best gifts we

    receive

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for

    one

    another.

    Here is the prayer:

Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, friends,

relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a new

revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to

    minister to

their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them

    Your

peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed

    confidence

through Your grace, In Jesus' precious name. Amen."

I know I picked more than four and you can, too.

When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could You

    please

    get that for me?"

Being blessed is GOOD...being HIGHLY FAVORED is best!

  8. Three Things In Life

Three things in life that, once gone, never come back -

    1. Time

    2. Words

    3. Opportunity

Three things in life that may never be lost -

    1. Peace

    2. Hope

    3. Honesty

Three things in life that are most valuable -

    1. Love

    2. Self-confidence

    3. Friends

Three things in life that are never certain -

    1. Dreams

    2. Success

    3. Fortune

Three things that make a person -

    1. Hard work

    2. Sincerity

    3. Commitment

Three things in life that can destroy a person -

    1. Alcohol / Drugs

    2. Pride

    3. Anger

Three things that are truly constant -

Father - Son - Holy Ghost

I ask the Lord to bless you, as I pray for you today; to guide you and protect you, as you go along your way. God's love is always with you, God's promises are true. And when you give God all your cares, you know God will see you through.

  9. As a parent of a teenager I am sure I do not always say and do things that she agrees with but I always have her best interest in mind. I really feel that you need to find someone that you can talk with so that you do not have to keep your feelings inside. Maybe you can start by talking with the school counsler, I know when my daughter was having some problems dealing with the passing of my son, her older brother and she felt like she could not talk to me because she felt like I had enough to deal with so she really enjoyed talking to the counsler at school and was able to work some of her feelings out.

I really hope that you find the peace you need between you and your father.
